Thank you for visiting my page, & for being awesome! I am a first year English teacher at a Title I school. After witnessing the opportunities available to students in low-income schools, I committed to trying to level the playing field by exposing student to various types of literature, specifically stories that allow them to identify with individual characters/communities. Providing forms of bibliotherapy in a safe setting allows students to control their book "encounters", learn about other cultures, & witness inspiring growth -- powerful tools that can help students learn the importance of investing in themselves, their futures, & their community. Every student deserves an advocate, someone who will fight for their right to thrive. As a community (of awesome internet people) we can come together to provide a culture of empowerment. Thank you for working with me to help the next generation of awesome :)
