  • Hands-on Sensory and Manipulative's to Help Us Learn and Grow

    Funded Aug 25, 2024

Thank you so much for your donations to our class. The students love playing with the large sensory objects in our sensory table. I paired up the hard objects with soft pom poms and they seem to be a hit. These manipulatives are bigger than some I've used in the past and this really is helping keep the table area tidier.

The manipulative for the light table and just so fun and beautiful. The students love using all of them! My favorite so far are the translucent pattern blocks. The students are so excited to use them and have been making amazing designs.

I'm so thrilled to have these high quality materials for my students. They deserve the best to help them learn and grow. Thank you again for your donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCoy-Hernandez

  • Light Table Learning!

    Funded Jul 4, 2024

Thank you so much for our light table! I apologize that it took me so long to post this letter. I was out on medical leave for a few months and wanted to wait to start using it when I was back at school. We love having it in our class!

This light table is beautiful. It is large enough that 6 students can use it at once. I'm thrilled with how calmly the students use it during playtime. It can be used in so many different ways. We can practice counting with objects and numbers. We can practice saying and writing the letters in our names. The students can play with translucent pattern blocks and build wonderful things. This light table is so well made it will be used by this years class and by students for many years to come. I'm so excited that we have this new high quality tool to use at school. Thank you so much for your donation to our class!”

  • Hands on Number Practice and Spatial Learning

    Funded Jul 4, 2024

Thank you so much for the translucent digit blocks! My students love them and would play with them everyday. The photographs I posted show the students beginning to build with them. As the school year progresses they will build more complicated projects. They are starting to work with a friend to build projects.

I also use these for counting practice with students. I will put our a one to ten number line and they will practice one to one correspondence, matching the correct amount of cubes to the correct number. Once they have mastered this we can put numbers in random order for them to match. The students like to build "stairs" with the cubes increasing one cube at a time. There are so many wonderful ways to use these to learn and grow.

Thank you so much for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCoy-Hernandez

  • Hands-on Learning In TK

    Funded Aug 8, 2024

Thank you for generous donations to our class. As you can see in the photos they have been very well received! The wooden rainbow puzzles are so cool. It is a wonderful way to talk to students about the different colors. It has been nice to see the students working together while using them. I loved it when they put the two sets together to make circles.

I can't say enough good things about the car mat/rugs. They are very well made and so soft! The students really like driving the cars on them. This helps with keeping the cars in one area of the classroom. Which makes my life easier. I can't wait to see the creative wonderful things they will build on them. Thank you again for supporting our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCoy-Hernandez

  • Learning Through Building!

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class. It is wonderful to have new shiny toys for my students to play and learn with. The Lakeshore wooden garage is very sturdy and will last for years and be used by many students. Boys and girls both enjoy driving and parking the cars. There are a variety of different cars and this encourage the students to talk about different situations. There is a school bus, police car fire trucks and more. The little people cars are bigger and they can put the little people in the cars. The students use these in the block area and enact many wonderful scenarios. Thank you for helping me to have a wonderful classroom to our students to learn and grow in!”

  • Stem to Learn and Grow!

    Funded Dec 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our class! The students truly enjoy playing and learning with all of the products.

The translucent digit blocks are a very big hit. The students love to build with them. We also use these blocks to help us practice counting. They are great for helping students learn one to one correspondence.

The hands-on wooden tops are so fun. They love to play with these. Our alphabet cards have a photograph of a top on the T card. Having these awesome hands on tops is wonderful for our English learners is and all the students to learn what a top is. Playing with a cool wooden top is so much better than looking at a photo of one!

Students also love building with the Playstix. It has been interesting to watch their structures get more complex as they get more comfortable with them.

Thank you so much for helping me to have a hands-on classroom for student to learn and grow in!”

    With gratitude,

  • Learning and Playing Outside!

    Funded Sep 30, 2023

The students were so excited to have all of the new playground equipment! My favorite is the little stomper stilts. They love to walk around on them. It was difficult for some students at first but they are all getting it!

We have divided the playground into different sections and have the equipment available for them to use. We have a frisbee and bouncy ball area. There is a stilt and Hula hoop area. We have a climbing area, an area for bikes and sand tables. We were able to separate the sand area from the rest of the play area.

It feels like we have a new play yard!

    Thank you!”

  • Ready, Set, Back to School!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for all of the supplies to start off our school year! All of the supplies are being joyfully used in our classroom. We finger painted pumpkins using the finger paint paper. The markers have been used for many projects. They have worked really well with our abc stencils. The students have really enjoyed using these and it helps them to learn both the letters, letter sounds.

We used the paper and supplies to make individual Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see books for the students. Each page was its own art project.

Having the supplies that we need in our classroom really opens up so many teaching opportunities. Thank you!”
