Help My Students Be Digital Creators Not Just Consumers
Funded Apr 3, 2025Wow! Thank you. This is such terrific news for my students in Baltimore. We are actually in the process of doing a unit on app creation and ethics in AI and these chargers will be so helpful. The students will be so very excited to hear the news. Your contribution really means a lot to my students and I and we thank you for you donations. Once again thank you so much.”

Funded May 31, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support. Your generosity made it possible so all my students have their own coding notebook. They take notes that they can refer back to for ideas and examples of code. Students learn in all different way. They learn by doing, watching videos and class discussions. They also learn by Journaling about coding , technology and their ideas and plans. Because of your generosity we have all the tools we need!
In Computer Science classes we use technology to solve problems. My students use their notebooks to create projects guides, to guide them with their solutions based coding. It is very important that students learn to be creators of technology and not just consumers.”

Funded Dec 28, 2023I can't thank you enough for your support of our project, "Learning to be Digital Creators". Students now have enough chargers and computer mice to effectively become creators of technology, not just consumers of technology! My students were especially excited to use these new supplies to create computer games with JavaScript and to program our Sphero Bolt robots.
Your support has given the Foundation of Computer Science students the opportunity to see how exciting learning to code can be. Having the tools to be able to create original projects while learning new programing languages has been transformational. Thank you again for coming through for the students in Baltimore City Public Schools.”

Funded Jan 8, 2023The Memory Project portraits was a big hit with my graphic design students. We created 60 portraits of 30 children from Nigeria. Not only did the students learn about digital portrait skills they also researched the life of children in Nigeria. We were told that a portion of the money was donated to new benches for the students in Nigeria.
The students worked so hard on their portraits. A number of students who had zero digital art experience came in on their lunch periods to continue practicing new Photoshop portrait techniques. Students also created websites about all their graphic design projects and the Memory Project Portraits were often their favorite project. My student's sincerely felt proud they could create something that had such a huge impact on children in Nigeria. They really took the motto of The Memory Project to heart, "Creating a kinder world through art".
This experience grew us as students, and future changemakers. Thank you for allowing us to continue this tradition of earning community service hours to create portraits for children in different countries. . We appreciate all that you have done to make this important opportunity possible for us.”

Documenting Our Lives: A Sketch A Day Project
Funded Aug 9, 2022I can't thank you enough for your support. Because of your generosity I was able to give sketchbooks to all my students. These sketchbook will be used as art journals, warm-up books and most importantly for drawing practice and visual journaling. Because of your generosity my students now have sketchbooks to document their art journey through out this school year.
Every student was thrilled to get their own sketchbook and to make it their own. One of their first assignment was to create an "identity college". Their beautiful artwork was used as a cover for their sketchbook. This made their sketchbooks even more personal and special.
Again, thank you so much for making this happen. Because of your willingness to support these high school students they now have personal sketchbooks and journals to document this year. Please know that you have made a positive impact that will not be forgotten.”

Funded Dec 3, 2019The professional frames were a big hit with my AP 2D design students. All of my students were thrilled to get their mats to frame their artwork. They used the mats to frame artwork to send in for the AP exam as well as creating diplays around the school of their beautiful digital artwork.
The students worked so hard on their AP portfolios. A number of students who had zero digital art experience came in on their lunch periods to continue practicing new Photoshop techniques to complete their AP exams. The extra bonus was they also learned how to proffessionally frame and present their work.
This experience grew us as students and artist. Thank you for allowing us to compete in AP coursework. We appreciate all that you have done to make this important opportunity possible for us.”

Help My Students Help Children in Cameroon
Funded Mar 19, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations to "Help my Students Help Children in Cameroon". You gave them the opportunity to create portraits of children from Cameroon through The Memory Project. The Memory Project is a nonprofit organization that invites art teachers and their students to create portraits for youth around the world who have faced substantial challenges.
My students have created beautiful portraits of children and we sent them off to be delivered to the children in Cameroon. My art students focused on improving their portraiture skills so their children's portraits would be perfect.
Many of my art students have said this was their most meaningful project that they have done all year and they are eagerly awaiting the video of "their" children receiving the portraits. Thanks you again for making this opportunity available to us.”

Documenting These Historic Times: A Sketch a Day Project
Funded Sep 16, 2020I can't thank you enough for your support. Because of your generosity I was able to make art supply "packets" to send to all my students. These packets were filled with all the supplies they needed to sketch and keep a journal while they are learning at home. Because of your generosity my students now have sketchbooks, colored pencils, drawing pencils, erasures, blenders and sharpies.
My students have been learning virtually since last March. This project did more to connect them as a class then any other work we have been doing. Every student was thrilled to get a package in the mail addressed just to them. I got so many "thank-you" in our Zoom and by e-mail and it was a huge pick-me up for me as a teacher.
Again, thank you so much for making this happen. Because of your willingness to support these high school students they now have personal sketchbooks and journals to document these historic times. Please know that you have made a positive impact that will not be forgotten.”

Funded Jun 18, 2020I want to thank you for supporting this project and making it possible for our students to get copies of the book, Becoming by Michelle Obama. The photos show students with masks on so you can't see just how much they were smiling when they came to pick up their books! It was wonderful that the project got funded so quickly so the students were able to pick up their books and start reading right away. We even got a shout out from Michelle Obama on Instagram. Her message to the students on a post that described the project was; "This made my day! I hope you ladies have fun reading this summer! Because of your generosity our school really will be, "One School, One Book". Our students are living in historical times and this book will inspire them to be leaders and be change-makers. In Michelle Obama's words, "Do we settle for the world as it is, or do we work for the world as it should be?" With your support, we can't wait to see what our students become.”
