Readers are Leaders!
Funded Oct 28, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students were thrilled to receive new non fiction books for our classroom. These books are all about different jobs and careers. Students have dozens of books to choose from to learn about careers and jobs that might interest them. First and Second grade is a perfect time to start exploring future career options.
My school district created a World of Work program for kindergarten through eighth grade. This program teaches 6 different careers at each grade level. Exposing students to 54 different careers (K-8) that utilize various skills and personality traits. These books align perfectly with our World of Work program and give my students many choices at their reading levels.
My students and I sincerely appreciate your generous gift. These books will be used for many years with hundreds of my students and future students.”

Level Up in Reading!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for the incredible gift you gave to my students and classroom. With your generous donation, we were able to purchase multiple copies of guided reading books. These books allow us to meet as a small group to read and discuss the text. Having multiple copies also allows for partner reading or reading individually. The stories are fiction and non-fiction so my students are exposed to multiple genres and text types. Having these new books really inspires and motivates my students to read and improve their reading levels.
Our classroom also received a set of five mutli-colored stools. These stools are perfect for partner reading, since students can sit closer to one another and the colors brighten up our classroom. The stools are also perfect for rotations and when students are using their Chromebooks for learning. We are just thrilled with all these new items and will use them for many days and years to come. Thank you for your generosity.”

Funded Jan 15, 2018Thank you so much for funding our flexible seating classroom project. My students love the new stools and wobble stools. The colorful stools really brighten up our classroom. The wobble stools allow students to get their wiggles out while they are working.
We use the stools during our reading group rotations and throughout the school day. Students also use them for partner reading, working in teams and for writer's workshop. Our new seating options give students a chance to work in pairs or teams much easier. Students can huddle their stools together when they are reading or working on a project. We also have more space in our classroom, since our new stools that up less space than traditional chairs.
My students and I love our new stools! Thank you very much for your generous donation. My students will enjoy these new stools for many years to come.”

Read, Read, Read!
Funded Nov 28, 2016Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project. My students have enjoyed all the new books that you purchased for our classroom. It is making a huge difference in their reading progress and excitement for reading.
My students have book bags and each week they get to choose 6 new books at their reading level. My books are all leveled from A-Z. This allows students to read books that are just right for their reading practice. Since I have 50 students it takes a lot of books to be able to stock my library with a full basket of books at each level. First grade readers have to go from level A-J in one school year. These new books are wonderful because they give student more choice when selecting their books.
Thank you so much for you generous gift to my students. These books will be used for many years and with many students now and in the future.”

Funded Sep 13, 2014Thank you so much for all the Character Education Books you donated to my First Grade Classroom. My students were thrilled when all the books arrived. They wanted me to read them all at once. Character Education is something that my school focuses on all year. Each month we select one character trait for our school wide focus. By the end of the year, students will have learned about kindness, empathy, tolerance, self-control, conscience, respect and more. These books are perfect to use throughout the year as students learn more about each character trait.
My students love to use these books for independent reading. They are the most popular books in our classroom. I use these books as a read aloud and to inspire students during writing time. These books are great discussion starters too. It's wonderful to hear students discuss these character traits at a deeper level. It's awesome to hear students using their character education words when the speak and write.
These books have had a huge impact on my classroom and students. We are so thankful that you decided to give to our project. Words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you very much!”

Career Education Books
Funded May 31, 2014Thank you so much for the Career Education Books you donated to my First Grade Classroom. My students were so excited when all the books arrived. They are the most popular books in my classroom. I had to develop a sharing schedule so everyone had access to all the books and could read about different careers. These books have been great to use as a read aloud, to get my students thinking about their futures and the careers they might choose.
We are also using the books for writing. Together we research one of the careers from our books and students write the skills they would need for that career. The also share their opinion if this job might be a good career for them and why. It's so exciting to see First Graders excited about their futures and dreaming big. My students are asking questions like, "What kind of classes would I need to take in college to be a doctor, dentist, police officer or even President."
These books have been such a wonderful resource that will benefit all of my students and future students for years to come. I cannot express how grateful I am that you decided to give to my project. These books are having a huge impact in my classroom. My students learned such a valuable lesson about kindness and generosity. They learned how the kindness of others can truly make a difference in their lives. Thank you very much!”
