Many things compete for a fifth grader's attention during any normal day whether it be friends, homework, video games, etc. One thing that often falls off of the list is reading. In my classroom though, reading is a central part to all that we do. A good book, some new reading strategies, and a comfy spot to read can transport any student into a new and exciting world. This is what I want for all of my students - to fall in love with reading. Luckily the school that these students attend places a heavy emphasis on reading. The school offers an online reading tool that differentiates instruction for each individual student. In order to use the program, students must have headphones which is why I am asking for help today.
