Show It, Share It!
Funded Apr 14, 2025My students and I would like to express how grateful we are for all your support. Coming from an inner city school funding is always an obstacle that is hard to overcome. If it wasn't for donors like you and Donors Choose our students would be left without the valuable resources that so desperately need!
During the peak of the pandemic we realized more than ever how reliant we are on technology. My students have computers that don't always work, cameras that aren't working, microphones that aren't active etc and that makes it impossible to communicate when needed. This new computer has allowed them to have a working camera and microphone which helps them greatly when they are learning English and speaking to native English speakers to learn the language using an online supplement.
While working with me they can use this computer to complete their assignments, work on projects and complete research. This tool has been a lifesaver for them! Thank you so much for your support!”

Help Us Promote Global Literacy!
Funded Apr 3, 2025My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our heart for your very generous donation that goes directly to use in my classroom and our school community. This project is designed for my students to understand what it's like to help others and they have already started doing that.
This project was designed for them to pay it forward and help others less fortunate than them. We are collecting books to send to the Philippines and raising money to cover the shipping expenses. These ideas will help us do this by providing us with some of the supplies needed to complete this project.
We can not thank you enough!”

Funded Jan 29, 2025My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your very generous donation that goes directly to use in my classroom and our school community. This project is designed for my students have the resources they need as growing young adults in relation to the new hygiene demands they're discovering at this new age range, as well as those hunger pangs that happen from time to time and need to be taken care so learning can happen!
Many of these students are in situations where they are not taught how to have good hygiene or do not have the money needed to support good hygiene so this greatly helps with this ongoing problem. They know in my room it is a "safe place" to ask for anything they may need to get through the day! After all, teenagers have enough to worry about... hygiene and hunger should not be one of those things!
We can not thank you enough!”

This classroom project was brought to life by A New York City Parent and 2 other donors."BOOBOOs" are No Fun! But We're Prepared!
Funded Jan 21, 2025My students and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for donating to our project! We frequently find that the standard public school funding we receive is simply not enough to care for the "entire child".
We recognized that sometimes the nurse doesn't have the supplies we need and/ or that sometimes it's easier having our own little first aid kit ready to go in our classroom. We decided to get the items we needed to create an all inclusive "kick butt" first aid kit of our own to have ready to go for life's "boo-boo". Thank you for making that possible!”

Funded Jan 15, 2025I would like to take this time to thank you from the bottom of my (and my students') hearts for your very generous donation! As a NYC school money is unfortunately an issue at times and I want to make sure my student will never realize it! It's with your help that we're able to do so!
When any is hungry it's very difficult to concentrate on anything else, imagine how much harder it is for young children to do so! These items will ensure that there is always a snack or two on hand for the kids that need it! ”

Funded Oct 22, 2024My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our heart for your very generous donation that goes directly to use in my classroom and our school community. This project is designed for my students to understand what it's like to help others and they have already started doing that.
Many of these students have been in situations that are, shall I say, not so pleasant themselves. They remember what it was like when they needed help, a shoulder to cry on or a friend to talk to. This project was designed for them to pay it forward and be that person to others in the school community as well as giving kids a place to chill, veg out and be in an all around "safe place"
We can not thank you enough!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Allstate Foundation. From Paper to Digital...Help Us Get Tech Savvy!
Funded Oct 2, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom that helped to fund a scanner for my students. We have so many exciting ideas that we want to try out with this new piece of technology in our classroom,! My students wanted to find a way to preserve their work, share what they've created and know they won't loose it and we thought this would be a perfect way to do just that! ,ly, none of that will happen this year.
I will explore and learn with my students how to use and operate the scanner so that we are equipped to use it properly make our work electronic! This way they can share their work with family and friends abroad, which they had to leave behind when they moved here, and show they all the English they have learned so far! The materials are a blessing to my classroom.
Thank you for supporting my students and I. It means the world to us!”

Funded Sep 18, 2024I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done for me and my students. I teach an amazing group of English Language Learners that recently arrived to this country as asylum seekers. You can imagine how they must feel emotionally as middle School students in a new school, new living arrangements, new friends, new teachers and a new country... all the while while not being able to speak the same language as their peers!
These reasons and more are why it was essential for me to create an environment where they can share their work with family and friends. The supplies we requested are going to be used to be able to print their work so they have take home copies and have it for a lifetime to remember the work they did when they first arrived in America!
Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts for your help with this!”

Funded May 21, 2024I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done for me and my students. I teach an amazing group of English Language Learners that recently arrived to this country as asylum seekers. You can imagine how they must feel emotionally as middle School students in a new school, new living arrangements, new friends, new teachers and a new country... all the while while not being able to speak the same language as their peers!
These reasons and more are why it was essential for me to create a social emotional learning group for my students to be able to express their feelings in a positive way! The supplies we requested are going to be used to create their very own "emotions journal" to give them a safe space for their thought. We will also have periodic celebrations to show case our work!
