• Pre-K Journaling Journey

  Thank you so much for your contribution. Our Pre-K students have begun journaling and are on their way to becoming authors. Every morning, after the students sign in, they identify their very own personal journal and begin illustrating and writing.

  The students in our class were excited when they each received their own journal. They loved that the journal included the alphabet and they began counting all the blank pages that they can fill in.

  Our next steps is to have Journal Sharing on Fridays during morning meeting. The students cannot wait to share their illustrations and writing with their classmates.”

• Keep Our Classroom Clean

  Funded May 7, 2024

  The materials we received will have a great impact on our Pre-K classroom. Our young students are constantly sneezing, coughing and their little noses are running. This does not stop them from hugging, and sitting and playing very closely together. The cleaning supplies will help keep our classroom clean, germ free and safe. Even when the children are very close to another, hopefully these materials will keep our classroom so clean that they don't make one another sick. Attendance will improve.

  The students were so excited when the materials were unpacked, that they all wanted to hold them. We've shared a picture of the excitement.

  We will use the materials to clean, as well as incorporate some lessons on the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and covering our mouths when we cough and sneeze.

• Our New Creative Curriculum

  Thank you so much for your donation to Our New Creative Classroom. The students are using the manipulatives and building toys to create buildings, cars and robots. Thus far, it was so exciting to see the the students using a variety of the building toys to build a shopping center. They planned together, worked together and completed the project with lots of problem solving.

  It was so exciting to see the students's reaction when the boxes arrived in our classroom. We played a guessing game to see if the children could figure out what was inside the materials. The smiles on their faces were wonderful to see.

  When we begin our unit on Trees, we will plant the tree and use the tree toys. we can't wait.”

• Baking Buddies!

  Funded May 9, 2023

  Wow! Thank you! Baking Buddies has brought so much excitement to our Pre-K Classroom. When the students saw the boxes arrive they were so excited to see the contents, especially the baking materials.

  Our Unit of Study now is Transformation. We are learning about how things change in the world around us. We baked vanilla cupcakes and watched how the raw ingredients were turned into delicious cupcakes. We then transformed the cupcakes into Butterfly Cupcakes to celebrate the transformation of our classroom caterpillars into butterflies.

• Pre-K Kiddies Creative Classroom

  Funded Apr 3, 2023

  We have been using the art materials to create Spring Art and Mothers' Day gifts. The students especially love using the puppet theater and the doll house. The students are using these materials to act out familiar scenarios and are learning through play. In one instance, the dollhouse family were having a difficult time sharing and taking turns. The students were able to problem solve and come up with a solution to help the play family work things out in a peaceful manner.

  The students were beyond excited when the boxes of materials arrived in our classroom. Based on the size and shape of each box, the students guessed what was inside each one.

  We will use all of the letter stickers for a final project. The students will write their names and write words using the sounds they hear when they say a word.

• Pre-K Kiddies

  Funded Sep 7, 2022

  Thank you for your donation to Pre-K Kiddies. It has helped make our classroom a very special learning environment.

  Celebrating Birthdays is a very special component of Pre-K. The birthday chart we received is proudly displayed on our wall and allows the children to see what month we will celebrate their special day. It helps the children develop a sense of time, learn the months of the year and identify numbers.

  Thanks to all of your our centers have been filling up with wonderful learning materials. The housekeeping center now has a new doll which helps students develop their nurturing role , the math center has Hot Dots which is helping the students improve their math skills, and the Moving Monkeys has a special spot in our STEM center.

  Once again thank you for being a special part of our classroom and for making this a safe and wonderful place for the children to grow.

• Super Pre-K Learners

  Funded Jul 7, 2022

  Thank you for your donation to Super Pre-K Learners. You have helped make our classroom a wonderful learning environment. The students have been using the materials that we received with your help, to become better learners.

  The children have been using the play dough during center time. Besides having fun and making wonderful creations, the play dough is helping develop the. students fine motor skills, their vocabulary and is therapeutic to many of the students.

  The washable paints are being used at the easel. Painting is so important in our Pre-K class. It helps improve Hand-Eye Coordination, teaches creative problem solving, increases individual confidence and best of all allows the children to paint beautiful pictures.

  The ink cartridges have helped us create a print rich environment in our classroom. Printed signs, songs, and labels are hanging throughout the room. In addition we have been able to print out many activities to create individual task boxes for the students.

  We can't wait to use the Butterfly Garden when we learn about Transformation.

• New Books for K

  Funded May 28, 2019

  Thank you so much for our brand new beautiful books. With these books our students will learn concepts of print as well as different reading strategies. We will be able to do certain activities such as read alouds, shared reading, and guided reading.

  In our classroom reading is a very important time for us. When students first arrive in the morning they do their independent reading time. This is where they get to explore their favorite classic books on their own such as Brown Bear Brown Bear and Caps for Sale.

• Good Books for Kindergarten

  We can't thank you enough for our wonderful books. With these books children have been participating in many activities such as shared reading, guided reading, independent reading, and read alouds.

  During class time we incorporate a grand conversation at the end of our read alouds. This allows students to understand, think, and comprehend what they have just read. Students are also learning how to point to each word when reading a book. We call this tracking with one to one correspondence.
