  • Superb Seating!

    Funded Feb 5, 2018

I am so thankful that you chose to donate to this project! These resources have greatly impacted students in our school. These flexible seating options are helpful to students throughout the school during academic activities, especially independent work time in the classroom. The Wobble Seats have been used during writing periods and students have truly enjoyed this seating option!

When the materials first arrived and students saw the seating options, they were so curious and excited to learn more about them! Every student could not wait to use these seats in their own classroom. These seats have been used for various academic activities and have truly helped students focus on their independent work.

The flexible seating project you helped fund has been so successful, we are looking to create another project to gain more flexible seating options for our students! These seating options help students maintain focus and as a result, are better able to complete independent academic tasks throughout the school day.

Thanks again for all your support and generous donations!”

  • Perfect Publishers!

    Funded Feb 23, 2016

Thank you so much for donating towards this project! Students have really enjoyed typing up their writing and other school work using technology. The ink and printer our class has received has been helpful when students are creating math word problems. Students hand wrote math word problems but then were able to type their problems on the computer! After typing, students printed their problems and attached to their math projects. Students are also able to type up their writing assignments as well.

It is very exciting for students to use a keyboard to produce their work in a different way. Pressing the 'Print' button and watching their typed up work print out is amazing! My students and I are so grateful for your generous donation to our classroom!”

  • Making More Room For Reading!

    Funded Oct 31, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project! This resource has helped house many more books in the classroom library. The bookshelf is the perfect size and is extremely spacious! Since I have this new bookshelf I was able to create two parts to our classroom library! I was able to create a non-fiction section to the classroom library with the new bookshelf.

When the new bookshelf came, students eyes were wide with excitement! They had a new place to search for books! They also lit up when they saw the bright, new bins. Students really enjoy the colors of the new bins.

This bookshelf will continue to house books for students in the classroom. The bookshelf is used daily when students shop for new books to read. The bins are used in the classroom library as well as in the math bookshelf. Some of the bins contain math games students play during math workshop. Students love grabbing the bright bins to play their math games!

Thanks so much for all your support!”

    Ms. Wilson

  • Love to Learn Literacy Centers!

    Funded Dec 2, 2015

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation that has made it possible to order literacy centers for my classroom! Students use these resources weekly during centers. During literacy centers, students are assigned to a set of games and activities in order to develop their skills in that area. These games are an amazing way to keep my students engaged in learning!

When my students first saw the materials their eyes lit up! They could not wait to set the activities up and get to work! These materials will allow my students to develop their literacy skills in an engaging way. They truly love all the materials.

Again, thank you for your generous donations and support for my students!”

  • Rockin' Readers!

    Funded Aug 22, 2015

Thank you so much once again for your generous donation to my classroom library! All of these new additions to our classroom library have allowed my students to grow as readers. Reading workshop in my classroom is one of the best parts of the day! Students come to the meeting area for a mini-lesson and then have the rest of the session to read independently from their book baggies. Our classroom has a book shopping schedule so students have a certain day of the week to change the books from their baggie. This day is always exciting because students are allowed to get a whole new set of books to read for the week!

These new books have engaged many students and have been the popular books to choose during book shopping for some time now! Students have learned new vocabulary words in the nonfiction Wonders of America books. Many students have learned to keep track of events in stories using the Cam Jansen series. Keeping track of events helps students better comprehend a story and provide an accurate retell. Students have also been able to develop their word solving skills using the Puppy Mudge Series and the My First Reader Series.

All of my students are fully enjoying all the new books in the classroom library! It is great to see students so excited about reading and learning new skills! Thank you again for your generous donation and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

  • Magnificent Math Centers!

    Funded Mar 22, 2015

When the shipments of resources started arriving at school, my students could not wait to rip open the boxes to see what was inside! As I opened each box there were many cheers of excitement. All the students gathered around and could not wait to get there hands on all the new resources!

My students use there resources many times throughout the week in various math lessons and activities. Students use these resources in small groups, with partners, as well as individually. These resources are engaging as well as educational, which is perfect! My students can't wait until math workshop so they can use all these games and resources again. Most times, these resources are used as centers to reinforce concepts and skills taught in lessons.

The students in my class have very specific learning needs and learn best through hands on activities that are engaging. All of these resources are just that! Even my students who do not favor math have learned to love math because they are able to use these fun activities and resources!”

  • Fun With Phonics!

    Funded Dec 30, 2014

My students could not contain their excitement when I carried in the big boxes of new phonics materials! Once all the packages were open all I could hear was, "Oh cool!" and "I want to play that!". My students were so excited to start playing all the new games and activities they had received.

My students and I are using these materials multiple times a week to further develop phonemic awareness and decoding skills. Several times a week we have a period called "Word Work" where we can use these fun and engaging games! Students play the board games in groups of 2 or 3, depending on specific learning needs. The other activities are assigned in groups but are each completed individually. The students are having a great time using all of these resources!

This project enabled my students to become excited to learn and develop their phonics skills! All of my students are engaged whenever they use these resources. My students' learning has certainly improved since using these games. I am noticing an improvement in choosing correct vowel sounds within their writing pieces. I am also seeing more students use digraphs correctly in their writing.

I would like to thank you again for your generous donations to my project!”

    With gratitude,

  • Brilliant Book Clubs!

    Funded Jan 18, 2015

I can't begin to express my gratitude for the generous donation towards this project! When all the new books arrived students couldn't wait to start reading them! They looked at the fancy new book covers and called out "I want to read that one!" as I introduced each set. My students enjoy reading every one of these new books!

Students mostly use these books for 'Book Clubs" or guided reading groups throughout the week. Each reading level group is given a book set to read and discuss with their club members. After reading the whole book or part of the book, group members hold discussions about the texts they are reading. Students talk about characters, character actions, problem/solution, and other important events in the books. Students also discuss unknown word and word-solving strategies based on the books.

These materials have really helped my students become eager readers! They can't wait to assemble into their book clubs or guided reading groups to continue to read these books. Along with developing their reading comprehension skills, students have been able to develop their conversational and language skills while holding discussions about these books.

Thanks again for helping obtain materials that have allowed my students to delve deeper into books and generate conversations about those books!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

  • All You Need is Books!

    Funded Dec 12, 2014

Thanks again for your generous donations to my classroom! When the new books arrived it was like Christmas morning! The students eyes lit up as I held up each new book and gave a preview so they could choose appropriately when book shopping. They could barely contain their excitement!

After previewing all the new books with students I was able to label and level every book. Once they were all ready, they entered their new home in our classroom library. Students book shop once a week for new books to put into their book baggies. All of these new books made book shopping a much more exciting experience because it was like entering a whole new classroom library! There are now so many books students can't WAIT to read. It's amazing.

All these new books reading helped my students remain excited and engaged in reading. Students have been able to move up reading levels and I credit this partly to these amazing books you all helped fund! My students and I are filled with thanks for all your support and donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

My students are curious and eager learners. My class consists of 12 special education students who are lively and eager to read everyday! My students are in a self-contained classroom due to their specific learning needs, many of which are literacy based. My school promotes early literacy as much as they can. Many of my students struggle with literacy and I am eager to help them make significant progress!
