Read, Write, Shine!
Funded Jan 26, 2023I was so excited when the items you donated arrived! My 3rd-grade students are using the Reading Comprehension Practice Cards to prepare for their state assessment coming up this month. We are using the passages and questions to practice going back to the text to find the evidence in order to answer the questions correctly. Next, 2nd-grade students are also using the Reading Comprehension Cards to practice restating part of the question in their answer. Additionally, 1st-grade students are using the "Fry Bread" book as a mentor text to retell a story. Children use the multicultural storytelling kit to explore the meaning of fry bread with a Native American family!
Students reacted with excitement and gratefulness. All the supplies are in color and the passages are short and engaging. The Reading Comprehension practice cards can be used individually or in a small group, which aligns with individualized learning goals. All my students have found the vowel pattern flip cards useful and engaging when practicing word work. The magnetic board has been very popular for students that need to rehearse their sentences before writing.
I will continue using everything for the rest of the year. I plan on introducing the Ready to Write cards to my first graders as a writing assessment.”

Funded Dec 6, 2015I am writing you to express my personal appreciation for your recent gift to our classroom. The active support from donors like yourselves helps us continue our tradition of excellence and to look forward to an organized classroom.
Your gift will continue to support our classroom for years to come. The population of students that I teach often need extra support and the shelving unit will help keep things labeled and in their place, as well as, easily accessible for the students to work independently. In addition, the shelving unit gives the students an opportunity to learn how to manage and organize material in a small space.
We are grateful for your generosity, and most of all your commitment to our mission of teaching lifelong learning goals. On behalf of my entire classroom, thank you again for your generous support and best wishes to you all.
Sincerely yours,
Traci Naccarato”

Reading Takes You Places
Funded Jun 25, 2015As I sat here this morning looking around my classroom, I stopped and stared at your generous donation. I can't tell you how much we appreciate your support for our Non-fiction library that has put smiles on some of the most vulnerable children.
Here at our classroom, our goal is to make sure that no child in our area ever goes without the things they need in order to be successful. Non-fiction books are a necessity for students in order to make progress in support of the end of the year assessments. In addition, the books are very engaging to all students and the book bins allow students to carry them to and from their desks. The organization process is also something that many students need to learn and the non-fiction library has been one of the best ways to teach these valuable skills.
Your generous donation will go a long way to helping us support every child's learning goals, regardless of what level they are currently reading at. In fact, with your gift, we will be able to provide students a wonderful learning library for years to come. Thank you! You have made a real difference in the lives of the kids we serve.
Thank you once again for your donation. It means the world to us!”

Visual Representation
Funded Oct 14, 2015I am overjoyed by your generosity, and more importantly, the students are utilizing the printer every day. Safety comes first, and having the printer right in my classroom has prevented me from leaving the classroom and students unattended. In addition, the students are learning the process of a final project and taking pride in their work. Many of the students I teach don't have a computer or printer at home, therefore, it is imperative that they have access to technology that will allow them to be successful today, as well as, college and career ready by the end of high school. ”
