I teach in the public school system in a high-poverty, low-income area of Aurora, just outside of Denver, CO. Our school provides breakfast and lunch to all students. My students are loving, eager to learn, and excited to come to school every day, although have already experienced much at a young age. Many of our students deal with malnutrition, homelessness or transience, and broken homes. Many of our students come as refugees, and our classroom is one of the first familiar places they will come to know. This year, I have 7 different languages spoken in my classroom! Even with all of the challenges, I love this school, this community, and my group of loving, growing, kinders!
