  • Accessories for Technology Needed!

    Funded Oct 20, 2019

Thank you so much for your awesome donation. It was such a blessing to have our project funded! We so desperately needed headphones for our classroom computers and laptops. Daily computer usage was very difficult without headphones for the students to fully focus on the instruction needed.

Since our students are at all different levels, I can now utilize more computer instructional programs like Starfal.com to help foster letter and sound knowledge. Now that we have headphones for each computer and laptop, I have noticed SUCH a difference in the student's attention level during their lessons . They are no longer struggling to hear over other computers, students, or other instruction going on in the room. Students are also able to get through more sessions because they are distraction free.

The mouse pads we received have been great as well. We didn't have enough for each computer and the ones we did have were falling apart. Thank you again for helping a classroom in need. It is greatly appreciated!"”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Clapper

  • Building Into the Future

    Funded Mar 1, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. It was such a blessing to have this project funded. My students were so excited to open the boxes and see the new materials that they can work with. I was really in need of new incentives to motivate my students to not only complete their work but to encourage them to work together. The Legos, Bristle Blocks and Design Builders give the boys and girls different items for them to build and use their imagination. With these new items added to my classroom the students have been encouraged to complete their classwork and computer work. Sometimes working with kids with emotional behavior disorders it is the little things that are a motivation. The carpet is an added bonus as the one I currently have is falling apart. Now they have a nice clean space to work.

When the students walked into school and opened they were overjoyed with the new items we received. They were actually eager to complete their classwork and computer work and use the new materials. I have a feeling they were getting a little bored of the Snap Cubes they have been using for months. Since receiving the new materials, they have been building away and I could hear small conversations of them using teamwork. Teamwork is so important when dealing with students who have trouble communicating their feelings. They are so excited to show me what they have created with these new items. Kids learn so much through play. It is my hope they will remember these experiences that are hands-on and full of imagination.

I would like to once again thank all of you for your generous donation to my classroom. You made nine students with special needs extremely happy.”

  • Soaring to Success With Technology!

    Funded Dec 10, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. It was such a blessing to have this project funded. We so desperately needed functioning labtops in the classroom. My students can now have unlimited access to the reading and math program mandated by the district. They can work on improving skills that they are struggling with. The programs our district provides can be used in the classroom as well as at home. However, most of my students do not have computers, tablets, or Internet access at home to benefit from these programs. So these new labtops are a HUGE help.

Since receiving our new Chromebooks, I have doubled the population of my classroom. My self-contained class went from four students to eight. Now I have eight students who will benefit from your kindness. My students were very excited to come to class and see four new labtops ready for them to use. During our first center rotation, they were wondering who the first group would be to work on them. I have never seen them so excited to use the district wide program.

The daily computer usage has increased because the labtops are more reliable. My students now have a new love for technology and I-ready. It is truly wonderful to see how something so small could make such a difference for my ESE students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Clapper

  • Building to Learn

    Funded Apr 14, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. It was truly exciting to have our project funded! We were really in need of new cardboard blocks for our blocks and building area. The Legos and Magnatiles are an added bonus give the boys and girls more items for them to build and use their imagination. With these new items added to my Blocks and Building area the center has become more popular then ever.

When the students walked into school on Monday they were overjoyed with the new items we received. They were eager to start centers and get to work. Since Monday, they have been building away with the Legos, Magnatiles, and new cardboard blocks. They are so excited to show me what they have created with these new items. Kids learn so much through play. It is my hope they will remember these experiences that are hands-on and full of imagination.

I would like to once again thank all of you for your generous donation to my classroom. You made twenty four and five year old extremely happy.”

I am a Special Education teacher in a low-income, high poverty area in Homestead, Florida. I teach students with Emotional Behavior Disorders and Learning Disabilites. It is a Title I school which means that almost all of the students in the school receive free or reduced price lunch. I am currently teaching math, science, language arts, reading, social studies, and social/emotional skills to a wonderful group of six and seven year olds. Most of these children come from difficult home environments and lack exposure to things that we can sometimes take for granted. My students are working below grade level and having labtops would be so beneficial. While I am working with small group instruction, other students can go to the computer center to sharpen their reading and comprehension skills. They will also be able to sharpen their math facts in both addition and subtraction which is an important life skill.
