  • Finding some balance

    Thank you so very much for your support of our project! My students are extremely thankful for the yoga resources. They especially love using the yoga mats. I knew that having the students try yoga on our industrial carpet floors was somewhat tough on their knees, but I truly had no idea that not having mats to practice on was impacting their bravery to try new poses and their self esteem, because they did not think they were worthy of practicing yoga since they did not have the proper equipment.

    Your gifts have changed the perspective of this awesome group of students. Their thank you letters all said things about giving back. The first thing that this group of 9 year-olds wanted to do, after receiving your gift, was to use it to bless other people. In their letters and during class, they talk about teaching others about deep breathing, how to focus on what you can control and to provide their families with stress management techniques. I can easily see how this class is already changing how they see themselves and how much power they have over their own state of mind. It's absolutely incredible to watch the transformation.

    I understand that donating to a class project is a risk, as most of you have never met me before and your hard earned money was sent to my classroom out of sheer hope that this will change the lives of a group of students you will never meet. I want to commend you for your bravery and assure you that you risk was worth it! Every afternoon, we are building stress management, developing neural pathways and reconnecting kids with their own inner voices...and you helped make that happen! Each day at 1pm, you should smile and think of us- as we whisper a silent prayer of thanks to you.”
