These animals/organisms are great in teaching students about ecosystems and habitats. For Marine Biology, a saltwater tank would help students see ocean ecosystems in action because we aren't making it out to the beach anytime soon. For Biology, having a couple of organisms in our classroom (Tarantula and Gecko) helps students understand what those organisms eat, how to take care of them, and the mannerisms each has. At our school, we focus on the 6 C's (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Citizenship, and Character) and by doing this project, students will have a chance to develop each one.
