  • Personalizing Student Space!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

As we continue to learn during the pandemic, the large unbreakable bins provide a sturdy place to store students' individual items. The magnetic shelves provide the students with a place to store books and writing tools. and the tote bags help with storing all their belongings. They absolutely love to place their items in their own personal space. It teaches them to be responsible and value their materials.”

  • Help Us Keep the Noise Out!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

The materials in this project will help keep the noise out as while the students learn using technology. Now that we're back to in-person learning, the students are seated apart as per recommendations to stay safe. In doing so, and while using technology, it can get very loud. The headphones help the students stay on task while they play educational games during iPad instruction. Other students have the option to play with the Learning Friends 100 Word Book which is a nice alternative to iPad instruction. Students absolutely love it!”

My students consist of three and four year olds at all levels of development. They consist of English Language Learners as well as monolingual students. It's a public pre-school in an Abbott district. My students are curious and are constantly exploring new things. As a facilitator in their learning experiences, I would like to capture these moments to aid in their learning experiences. I aid in their learning experiences by asking questions and providing additional materials to encourage them to think deeper in order for optimal learning to occur. I often take pictures with my old point and shoot camera and later provide the pictures to the students and invite them to talk about that learning experience. This type of activity encourages students to demonstrate understanding, foster language development as well as aid in social emotional development as they share their experiences with their peers.
