  • 8 Houses for One Family

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

The impact that this project and needed materials has had on my students has been immeasurable. New students coming in felt like they were part of a family and made instant friends. It has helped to teach our students how to interact with each other in a respectful way. It has also allowed for specific teachers to be the "go to" person for a group of students and provide them with support-academically, socially and emotionally.

We had a new student arrive the day that we sorted students into their houses. She immediately chose a house, joined a group of students and never had to experience that awkward moment when you don't know anyone. The other students cheered for her to join their house. It was magical.”

    With gratitude,

  • Caring Cobras

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations. By being able to help students "celebrate" their behaviors and positive behaviors, we have been able to increase the positive responses to things. As well, as to reduce the number of behavior referrals written, and the number of consequences that have had to be given.

Your support in helping students to feel successful and celebrate the good is going a long way. It will help them maintain their behaviors in the future and become successful and positive adults.”

    With gratitude,

  • Let's Get Movin'!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Being able to provide flexible seating and different arrangements within my classroom has helped to inspire great learning. The children that I work with need to be able to move while they work, or provide themselves with sensory stimulation. By having different types of chairs and work areas, they are able to be themselves.

Many of these students do not just "get" gifts or things. For them to feel like someone cares and is invested in their learning, by buying these gifts, the results have been amazing.”

  • Learning Fun-iture

    Funded May 14, 2023

I cannot begin to thank you for your donation. The impact that these supplies have on my students is immeasurable. They feel so loved and inspired when they walk into the room and see tables that are "special" and "unique." They have a warm, work area where they can do an assignment. They have special, flexible seating where they can work towards their goals. I even feel warm and cozy when I walk into the room.

The supplies are helping to organize our space and our work areas. The students love the bright colors, but also figuring out their organization system so that they can be more independent,”

  • Blast Off With Sensory Fun

    Funded May 13, 2019

We cannot thank you enough for your generous donation. This donation has helped students be able to get up and move, shake out their sillies and just be kids. Being able to use this sensory path, they are able to focus their energy into an organized activity. They are able to use their words and ask for a break, without any disruptions to their learning or that of their peers. It has reduced the number of re-directions needed and caused the students to grow academically. Allowing kids to be kids is the best thing we can do, and you have allowed us this opportunity.”

  • Check Your Seat

    Funded Sep 11, 2018

The students have been able to utilize the flexible seating to benefit while doing independent work, group work and small group work. When a student feels like they need to move, they can rock and move around in those chairs, which allows them to feel that's natural inside of them but without that taking over their brain. They are able to focus on the task at hand and the work that needs done. They feel successful and powerful. We are not trying to make them into something that is not natural to them. This flexible seating allows them to use their own strengths and be successful.

When the kids first saw the chairs, they were so excited. At first, they could not believe that anyone would buy these for them, and they were so excited to try them out.

We are hoping to make the classroom a full flexible seating class. No "boring, regular" chairs. We want flexibility and fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Popp

  • Let's Bounce!

    Funded Nov 16, 2017

Your generous donations have helped my students who are struggling with self control. The materials that we were able to purchase have helped those students learn techniques that help them to stay in their seats, to be able to move without distracting anyone else and to feel comfortable in their own skin. When they are able to eliminate that distraction of trying to stay "still" and it takes everything they have, they are not learning the content being taught. These materials are helping them to be successful. Thank you so much for your donations and helping my students experience the success that other students feel.”

  • Let's Get Movin!

    Funded Oct 13, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation. When the packages arrived, the students were so excited and felt so loved. They have been utilizing the products received to help them with their attention problems and helping them to stay focused. They feel a sense of responsibility now and ownership to these materials. It has reduced the number of redirection that I need to give and has increased their time on task and work completion. This project has touched so many students and has given them an outlet to channel the way they feel, without being made to think that it is wrong.

We truly appreciate all of you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Popp

  • Books Alive!

    Funded Jan 7, 2016

I want to thank you for your generous donation. The use of these materials have been so beneficial to my students. Their creative juices have been able to soar by having the ability to take something that they read and creating a published piece to go along with it.

When the package first arrived, the students were in the room. I sent 3 of them over to get the boxes and of course, they all wanted to know what it was. When I told them that it was brand new chart paper, markers, white board markers and dry erase pads, they were so excited. They could not believe that people would buy them brand new supplies.

We unpacked the boxes together and they were so careful to make sure that everything was put away carefully and they have taken care of it ever since. I can't thank you enough for the generous donation and for the chance to see the look of excitement on each of the children that are able to use these supplies.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Popp

We are a public school in the middle of a big city. We have a diverse school with students from many different countries as well as many different neighborhoods within the city. While we are located in a neighborhood that is considered to be a financially stable neighborhood, most of my students are not from that neighborhood. They come from low income families and from a neighborhood where they experience violence on a daily basis. They are trying to overcome the negative and become successful students. They love to learn. They thrive with a little bit of extra assistance and when their strengths are tapped into. Within my one classroom, we service students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, Autism, emotional disabilities, and other health impairments. We are a family and the kids stick together, stand up for each other, and protect each other. If one is having a bad day, the others will help them overcome it. It's a safe place for them to learn.
