Balls for All

Funded Oct 23, 2021

A truly heartfelt thank you to all of you, along with Kellogg's, that took a moment to look at our school project and donate to it. As the equipment came in, I made it priority #1 to show all my students and explain how people that don't even know them, took an interest in them and wanted them to have the supplies needed to get everything out of their Physical Education class! Students that don't have my class were coming up to me begging to get into Physical Education because of the buzz around school from our Donors Choose project!!!

As an elective, I get "forgotten' in the budget allotments for class supplies. I am a one-man-show when it comes to funding my Physical Education classes, as well as, our schools athletic program as the schools Athletic Director. The equipment received definitely took a load off my shoulders in regards to making sure my students have what they need to succeed in my class.

The equipment is allowing me to do more one-on-one drills when introducing sports. Which is sometimes difficult to do with the class sizes. Prime example is now I have enough soccer balls to run 15 lines of ball handling drills, which is allowing more touches of the ball for each student. Before the equipment arrived, I was making due with 5 lines which led to alot of standing around time in between turns. The soccer gates received are a great addition to the drills and the goals really helped in teaching how to finish a run at the net. It made our soccer unit much more competitive and overall student skills were greatly improved. The same can be said with the addition of the footballs. Throwing/catching drills went from 5-7 lines to 15 and gave the students more repetitions which resulted in better results and competitiveness in our flag football unit.

The equipment, ALL equipment, will be used to the fullest and again, I cannot thank Donors Choose enough for the opportunity to present MY kids to the world!! As the donations came in, I was overcome with humbleness and gratitude in seeing the generosity from people helping a total stranger who's just trying to give all he can to his students.

Much love and blessing to everyone who helped my students!! God bless.”

With gratitude,

Coach Alicea
