They love figuring out a problem and finding different strategies to solve the problem. Many of my students come from families of a lower economic status. This means that family time is often lessened because of work. Which means practice of skills at home often doesn't get accomplished. It is a challenge being a teacher whose parental involvement is low. Not because parents don't want to help but because they simply can't afford to.
