I teach chemistry and physics at a public magnet school in Los Angeles, CA. My school is pretty old, and what we lack in updated facilities and technology, we make up for in determination to learn science! My students engage in projects and labs throughout the year that help them learn more about the context of the science they are learning. My number 1 goal in my class is to help my students develop science skills so that they can succeed in STEM careers. However, we need a lot of help and resources making that happen. We use our school budget for lab supplies, and we get donations from outreach programs at local universities, but we still fall short. We really appreciate all of your generosity in helping us do actual labs in class!
