Currently I am working at a school with students who have many different home life challenges to overcome in addition to learning the concepts required in the Common Core. Some are living with other family members due to financial hardships, health challenges of family members, or parents struggling with legal problems. We have a high population of English Language Learners. The school is a targeted Title I school and the staff is working hard to provide all students with experiences and tools needed to succeed in life and rise above challenges they may be experiencing at home. I currently teach a science rotation that allows all students in the school to experience hands on science activities. I serve over 550 students every week.
