My students are a collection of learners streaming from very diverse and unique backgrounds. Often times sports are a great ambassador for bringing our students together and teaching them valuable life lessons. The school community I work in is a group of hard working individuals all united to to achieve goals and follow dreams. My school is also socioeconomically challenged. Resources are scarce, but desire to grow through athletics is not. Students are enthusiastic about athletics, especially the game of basketball. Most students come to our school with little knowledge, skill, and background in basketball. Learning basketball skill is a huge component of helping them grow and learn as individuals and as part of a team.
