Funded Dec 28, 2020It is with great pleasure that I thank all the donors for your generous and impactful donations to my remote classroom. The money donated was used to purchase printers for home, noise cancelling headphones and printing paper for my Special Needs Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Graders.
With the materials donated, my students are now able to print resources, like graphic organizers, assignments, fun games, and charts/anchors to support their learning during live meeting and asynchronous independent work time. All families were excited and grateful when they learned that our grant was filled and eager to pick up the materials from our school. On pick-up days, families arrived with shopping carts, grateful and happy hearts.
My students are most excited about the headphones as they allow them to focus better, plus they think that it is super cool that everyone has headphones on during our live instruction meetings daily. Parents have expressed appreciation for the headphones because they help limit students' attention to environmental stimuli like sounds in the home or street noise. Students with more than 1 remote learner at home are especially happy as the headphones eliminate them hearing overlapping instruction from different teachers working with other children in the household.
Again, thank you for your donations. All the families love the resources and have been using them to support learning and reduce screen time for our unique learners. Having access to these resources is helping my students tune in for learning and make meaning of learning materials presented to them on a screen, by printed one page at time.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Beckett
