My students are ages 3 to 6, in a universal classroom that serves typical and students with different abilities. I have students with lots of different kinds of abilities; autism, sticklers syndrome, seizure disorders, down syndrome, hearing impaired, visually impaired, just to name a few. I love my job and my children; they are so wonderful to work with, and give their all to try new things. We live in a rural community in West Virginia, that has various economic levels. Parents in this area work very hard to have homes and provide for their families. Some parents have to have more than one job to make ends meet, others rely on the welfare system. Drug abuse is an extreme concern in our area. I would love to fund projects to encourage children to explore the world around them and stay drug free and be strong enough to say no to drugs. The community is very supportive.
