    Funded Dec 23, 2007

Thank you so much for your generous donation! I can't wait for my students to come into class with the stars projected on the ceiling and experience the simulated trip to space. They are going to be so excited and learn so much thanks to your generosity. Thank you again”

  • Just-Right Books for Special Needs Readers

    Funded Dec 21, 2007

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students will be thrilled to read the books you have donated to our class. While it is obvious that they enjoy our read-aloud every morning, some struggle during independent reading, and I am sure that the variety of beginner-level books that will soon be arriving will motivate them to read on their own. Thank you for helping my students become stronger and more enthusiastic readers. It is a priceless gift”

  • Help Our Class Get a Clue with Mystery Books!

    Funded Nov 16, 2007

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students will be so excited to find out that we have our own classroom mystery library on its way. I am so excited that I will be able to plan and carry out a thorough exploration of the mystery genre. I loved reading mysteries when I was young and hope to pass on that enthusiasm to my students. Without your help, it would not happen. Thank you again. We look forward to reading the books over and over again”

  • Encourage Reading with a Couple of Comfortable Seats

    Funded Aug 11, 2007

Thank you so much for your generous donation! I have had the fortunate opportunity to watch my students become voracious readers over the last two years, and the bean bag chairs you have donated will only encourage them to spend more time reading. Those that will be in my class in the fall will surely be excited to find new places to plop down with their books during our reader's workshop. Thank you for helping me create a comfortable classroom environment”

You have no idea how excited I am to log onto my email on Friday evening to receive the news that my proposal for a laminating machine has been funded! After a challenging (but rewarding) week at school it is apparent how vital generous donors are to the running of a successful classroom. Your gift will be well-used and appreciated, and I’m sure that my students will benefit academically and socially from its use. Thank you very much!

  • Hands-On Learning with a Computer Touchscreen

    Funded Jan 5, 2007

You can't believe how thrilled I am to learn that you have funded my proposal for a computer touch-screen! I recently went to a teacher workshop during which I had the opportunity to map my ideal classroom's set-up and contents, and all the teachers I was with said I was dreaming when I mapped out a computer station with a touch-screen. Thank you for making that a reality! I can't wait to see the student response when the monitor arrives, and watch their progress as they learn to utilize it”

  • Sturdy Books for Enthusiastic Special Needs Readers

    Funded Dec 4, 2006

As I have built up a libary for my students over the last year, it has been my pleasure to watch them grow more and more enthusiastic about books. Thank you so much for your contribution to our library. These board books will help make reading more accessible to my students with motor skills problems. I can't wait to see their faces when the new books arrive”

My 4th and 5th grade students with autism learn best from experiential learning. When they are able to see and touch what they are learning about, they not only have a lot of fun, they also comprehend the concepts we're studying with more depth. I've found that field trips are one of the best ways to support a unit of study in the classroom.
