Thank you for donating prizes for our nonfiction challenge!
When I showed the prizes to my students, they were even more inspired to read their chosen nonfiction books. Many students reported that this was their favorite activity during our second quarter because they learned a lot and realized that nonfiction texts can be very interesting for them to read. They felt that this activity broadened their willingness to read other genres.
Our next steps are to keep diversifying our reading and celebrating the success we have in expanding our reading variety! Students continue to engage with their reading in a thoughtful manner and have made a stronger connection to reading for enjoyment and personal learning.”
