I work for the a district where all schools are Title I. Title I means that the demographics of the schools include students with economic disadvantages.
I would describe my school as a battlefield. It does have its days but I would not trade my job for anything. My students are mixed, with some who have given up on the possibility of making a change of their surroundings and those that will beat the odds. I also teach students from different diverse backgrounds including English language learners.
I am working hard to reach out to the ones that are willing to learn, the ones who have potential, and even the ones who have lost hope. I know all students can learn and I have the been given the power to teach.
