Tenacious, optimistic, grateful. Despite facing many adversities at a young age, my students embrace and display qualities that lead to success. Students in my class are living in a highly impoverished community and have very limited access to resources that are generally taken for granted; resources like books and computers. I am adamant that my students deserve equal access to the same types of resources and materials that are seen in public schools located in more affluent areas. If the funding isn't available to ascertain these resources through my school or district, then I am determined to provide it using the resources I have access to.
