All my students have significant developmental disabilities including cognitive and physical disabilities. Due to the severity of their disabilities they attend a separate school for students with those types of delays. Most of the students come from low-income families. My students' needs are considered "intensive" and they struggle with many day-to-day tasks. However, despite their difficulties with many everyday tasks of daily living, they thoroughly enjoy music therapy sessions and often "shine" during the activities presented. I am a music therapist and I LOVE to see my students SHINE!
