First grade is a crucial year, it is when most students learn to READ! Blending is vital in being able to do this. In first grade, we spend months on blending. I sit with them and teach them how to blend. Distance learning, I will not be able to do this in person, but I can do it online with them. I want to make sure each child has his/her own letters so we can successfully learn to blend. The magnetic boards will be used for blending, learning to write letters/words, and learning to spelling words. These supplies will allow me to cover numerous academic areas to ensure their success in first grade.
