My students come from poverty. Many of them come from single parent homes, no electricity or running water. School is a safe home for them. Just being in my classroom is a heaven for some. They seek attention, love, and are always eager to learn! My goal is to give them hope for a future! I have had several instances where I break down in tears because I feel for them. On cold days, I can only think of them and wonder if they're warm and safe. All my extra money goes to them. Even if it's just a sweater or some socks. I absolutely love where I work. I have had several opportunities to work at other schools, but working for these schools is my calling. I belong here with them!
