A Safe Place to Learn
Funded Sep 14, 2020I feel so fortunate to have your generous donation for my "A Safe Place to Learn" project! In order to feel a bit safer in returning to in-person learning, these protective shields for my students and me are so crucial! These safe guard shields are needed for every student at every school. They will clear enough for students to see my instruction and sturdy enough to keep bacteria from spreading around the classroom. I am so happy that my students and I will be well protected with these shields. All the teachers at my school sites are envious how lucky I am to have them. Thank You so much!”

Funded Sep 17, 2020Thank You so much for your generous donation for my Basic Necessities for my students. These supplies were so important for me to do Distance Learning this school year. The iCodis document camera was most crucial! I can share writing, math, reading and all assignment with my students using this document camera. I can read stories by pointing and tracking words to show my First graders how to read. All the notebooks, journals, writing and drawing tools are all put in very good use. Students have their own sets of writing and learning tools to make Distance Learning a very successful experience. My deepest appreciation for your kindness!”

Funded Sep 3, 2020Receiving all of the children headphones with microphones is more than Christmas came early for my students and me! My students love wearing the animal ears headphones. I can hear students reading and answering questions much more clear now. I no longer have to read the children's lips and make guesses of what they are trying to say among the 22 little Zoom boxes. As difficult as Distance Learning is for my little ones, these headphones are making a difference in their learning and my teaching. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You for your generous donation!”

First Graders Scream for STEAM!
Funded Oct 2, 2019Your generous donation to my classroom has made a huge impact to my students' learning. Every time when I bring out something new that was purchased from your donation, it is like Christmas to these first graders!
The extra Ozobots have made it possible for these students to work as partners. They are creating more coding projects using these little robots. We made giant light up spiders using the LED lights, batteries, and copper wire tape. It was a huge success! Parents were surprised with these giant light up creatures. We will be starting our canvas painting next week using the new canvas, tabletop easels, paint, brushes, and glitter. I can't wait to see the excitement of my students!
With all of these new materials and supplies, students are able to integrate across the curriculum in the most creative ways. Thank You so much for supporting our classroom!”

Coding for First Grade
Funded Aug 26, 2019Your generosity has helped my students come alive with the newest technology in my first grade classroom! These Ozobots are more than social coding robots, they are like mini Star Wars droids that my students can program on their own by creating their own shapes, lines, and color codes.
The benefits of learning coding are many and the most beneficial ones. Coding helps students build applications, put them over servers and use so that multiple users can use it and get the benefits. All of these sound almost too overwhelming for first grade students. That's why these Ozobots are such great new technology for these young minds to start their coding experience.
My students are working so cooperatively in sharing these few Ozobots. Their collaboration in completing their assignment using these robots is filled with giggles and laughter. Thank You again for bringing such excitement in learning to my classroom!”

Funded Dec 30, 2012Your donation of the Samsung Galaxy tablets had made such a big difference for my First Grade students! Most of my students have never touched a tablet or an Ipad until now!
I downloaded many learning apps for Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and songs in both Chinese and English. My 22 students rotate the tablets daily so that they will all get a chance to use them as a learning and reinforcing tool. It's the highlight of their day!
Owning these tablets make feel "rich" being a public school teacher because of the enriched learning opportunity for my students. Thank You so much again for bringing my class to the 21st Century Learning!”

Every Child's Dream
Funded Oct 31, 2012You have truly made my students' dream come true! My classroom with the new 37" LG LCD television is envied by every teacher at my school! I placed the television in the corner of the room where all of my 22 First Grade students can see the picture shown clearly.
So far, I have shown science videos, Internet safety videos, Magic School Bus and Reading Rainbow videos to my students. I have also connected my laptop with the television to teach various lessons. The TV picture quality is amazing! My students and I could not be happier!
All of these wonderful lessons could not happen without your generosity and support to this project! I deeply appreciate what you have given to my students! Thank You so much again completing my project of Every Child's Dream!”

A Place for My Students to Sit and Read
Funded Aug 5, 2012Your generosity has made such a big difference in my classroom! The beautiful rug is now my students' most favorite place to sit and read stories! Not only does it provide a warm and welcoming area for reading, it also fills my classroom with beautiful colors! The magnetic book stands are now being used for students to put story cards in sequential order, and the magnetic hooks are used to hang our High Frequency Words and Spelling Word Cards. Oh, and those wonderful plastic containers are now filled with all sorts of craft supplies! Students love to go through each tub to create their own art pieces.
I feel so fortunate to have your support during these difficult times we are facing in schools. With major budget cut, students are receiving less in every aspect!
Thank you so much again for your donation to our children!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Wu
