Relax and Read!
Funded Jan 10, 2023First, I want to thank you again on behalf of all my students and myself. We love to use the bean bags daily, we enjoy reading books and practicing class vocabulary, in addition to other reading skills. When the bean bags were delivered, they came in huge boxes, and we were very excited about opening the boxes and seeing the beautiful bright colors of the bean bags. From the first day, the students rotate sitting on the bean bags as all the students want to read in that area. We enjoy reading books that teach lessons about kindness and reading academic books. Thank you!!”

Writing With Motivation!
Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you so much, for supporting our class with these books that will provide my current and future students with practice to strengthen their writing skills as well as their reading skills. The daily use of these books can help the students build strength in their arms, hands and fingers and the chance to write and rewrite to improve their handwriting abilities. As the students write, they practice reading the words and connecting the words to the images in the book to help them learn and improve their reading comprehension. Our team of paraprofessionals, therapists and teachers work with each student individually to help them reach their own individual learning potential.
We read daily and use visual aid to support their reading comprehension, I encourage my students a love for reading as reading will improve their vocabulary, writing and speaking abilities. My students are low functioning in the autistic spectrum and most of them benefit from using the books. My students range from verbal to non verbal, and they are in a modified curriculum. I enjoy working with them and supporting their learning as I want each of them to reach their highest educational level. Again, thank you so much for your gift.”

Funded Aug 4, 2021My students are very happy with the resources you donated to our class. Our classroom was full of joy when the boxes arrived with the frames and the flag. The students opened the boxes immediately. We placed the frames on the class wall with art made by the students for everyone to see and for them to remember how talented they are. The flag is now a piece of art, as is cover with blue and red glitter.
My students are happy attending school every day and engaging in learning activities that will prepare them for the next school year. Again, thank you so much for your support to our class and community.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kleenex® Brand and one other donor.Technology a Reliable Way of Teaching
Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so much for your gift to my class. Since March 2020, my class has fluctuated from my house to my school classroom several times. At the beginning the students and I were anxious as it was new to all of us but with time we adjusted and it worked well, except for the computer I had to provide instruction. The computer used to shut down several times a day and it was very difficult for the students to log in again as most of them are low functioning autistic students. The families did an amazing job in supporting the students from home as I guided the parents and the students via my phone to log in and learn to navigate all the online programs to participate in class and to turn in the students assignments.
Due to the Corona virus and how it continues to affect our community, I don't know what the future holds but I know that if I have to return to teach online from my house, I'm ready with a computer that it capable to support all the programs I used to teach my students.
Again, I am grateful for your support my class and my students who are eager to learn.”

Funded Nov 20, 2018My students are very happy using technology in our classroom. We are very thankful for your donation to our class. Most of the students in the class do not have a computer or Internet at home, therefore, they are very happy to use the iPad. The iPad challenge my students to research and solve problems using a multidisciplinary approach. This donation makes it easier for my students to make a presentation in front of the class, as the student can hold the iPad in his or her hands to show a video or a PowerPoint presentation, making the assignment more fun. The students enjoy using the iPad to research and brainstorm solutions for essential questions post on classroom assignments.
Your donation allows my students a fantastic opportunity to use technology to research, explore and to learn. Thank you very much for your continue support.”

Funded Oct 2, 2017Thank you for your support, your gift has given my students the opportunity to continue improving their writing skills as they can now take home writing and reading assignments. Your gift allows the students to build a habit of studying. They also review course materials necessary for testing at home. We now print photos and use them in our class projects. Using visual aids to learn helps the students increase their motivation in learning as it makes it easier for them to communicate when they have visual images. I thank you for supporting our class as our resources are limited. Your gift would make a difference in my students' education and future.”

Good Hygiene Habits Are For Life!
Funded Mar 27, 2017My students are very happy and grateful for your donations to the class. They are using all the hygiene products every day. The boxes were delivered in different days and the students were very happy and excited to see what they got.
As a result of your donations, the students will have enough hygiene supplies until the end of the school. I made a pack for each student to take home with their supplies. The pictures show the happiness each student had when they received their supplies.

Read for Success
Funded Nov 6, 2015On behalf of my students, I want to thank, all of you who made it possible for my students to have new computers and the boombox. We use them everyday, the students are always very excited to use technology and they learn faster. I rotated all the students daily to make sure all of them are taking advantage of the gifts.
The computers are used to do research and projects for the class. For example, last week all the students researched and wrote a paper on their favorite president and presented the information to the class as part of Presidents Day. All of them were very happy and it was a succeed for the class. In addition, the computers are used for IREADY and System 44. These are reading and mathematics program.
The boombox are very important because as part of the reading program, the students listen to books that are on CD and they read along with the book. It helps them enormously to improve the pronunciation as well as their reading skills. The speakers are use with the computer to listen to discovery videos for science.
Again, thank you very much for your help, it is helping the students make continue improvement on their daily learning.
Yours in education,
Ms. Mckeown”

Computers are an Important Key to Future Learning
Funded Oct 21, 2014Upon receiving the computers the students were very happy. We set a table in the reading area of the class. The students use the computers everyday to do IReady reading and math. The IReady reading program is a program that helps the students improve their reading and mathematical skills to achieve higher reading and math levels.
In addition, the students use the computers to do projects for science and civics. Last week, I divided the class in three groups and each group did a presentation on the legislative, judicial and executive branch of the government. The students did the research on line.
The computers are a joy for them as many of them do not have a computer at home or internet access. The computers will help them improve their test scores for reading as every reading tests are computer base and now they practice everyday. The students enjoy using the computers to find information on topics they do know and learning about other countries in the world. These computers are a great gift.”
