Our school is 99% free and reduced price lunch. However, don't let that statistic paint the whole picture. I teach the best students in the whole world. While they face many challenges, they are excited about learning. Each day we begin our class with a teacher affirmation followed by a student affirmation. Should they get off task, I only need remind them of what they affirmed at the beginning of class. Poverty does not necessitate failure. My students believe they can achieve and I believe I am just the teacher to make that happen. I teach fantastic kids!
