I am requesting funds to attend a social emotional conference. In today’s age, it is prevalent that young children are being exposed to more trauma before they step foot into the preschool classroom. It is crucial that children in early childhood programs are given tools for them to be able to self-regulate and form healthy relationships with their peers and adults. Conscious Discipline is a social-emotional curriculum that helps children with self-regulation and building positive relationships. This three-day conference will provide me with invaluable information that I will be able to take back with me to improve my practice when school resumes in the fall. My students will benefit because social emotional development is an essential classroom practice for all students to have equal opportunities to learn. I will be able to provide the environment and tools that children need to be able to thrive!
