Butterfly, Why?
Funded Mar 9, 2020This project was funded immediately before the pandemic went into effect and schools were closed. Unfortunately we were not able to get the butterflies, but instead we purchased a variety of books to teach the children about a multitude of celebrations throughout the year. Books have the amazing ability to transport children into a whole new world, and during such a scary time, these books did just that. Thank you so, so much for supporting us and helping to brighten our days. You are truly the best!”

Supplies to Support Special Leaners
Funded May 6, 2020The materials that you so generously donated to our classroom has already made a great impact on the students. Education has made a huge shift with more students opting to learn remotely; however, the students that come in for the hybrid learning in person are benefitting from the materials provided. They love having the nice, new, shiny materials to further enhance their learning. We are so appreciative of your generosity to our class and will continue to make good use of these supplies on a daily basis.”

Use for Dr. Seuss!
Funded Mar 23, 2020The generous donation of the Dr. Seuss collection of books has greatly enhanced the classroom library in so many ways! In first grade, there is great emphasis placed on moving up reading levels during the duration of the year. I love putting Dr. Seuss books in my children's hands, especially my struggling readers, because for so many of them it is the first time they are able to read a book fluently! From the bottom of my heart, i was to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for your generosity in supporting my little learners. Thank you so much!!”

Engaging Read Alongs!
Funded Apr 3, 2020These beautiful new books and read along CD arrived in our classroom today. This collection of beloved children's books have greatly improved the selection of listening center books in our room, and were so thankful to you for helping us achieve that! they will be enjoyed by many children in the years to come. There isn't a lot of time in the school day to read the classics anymore, so I'm happy the students will have the opportunity to listen to them through the listening center. I am looking forward to introducing the books to the students when they come in for the new school year. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”

Clean Air, Clear Minds
Funded Aug 11, 2020Going back to school has brought forth mixed feelings, as we are all so happy to be in school yet anxious about the global pandemic and knowing the risks of exposure. However, with the addition of this air purifier in the classroom, many anxieties have been alleviated. I just want to express my gratitude for your kindness during this time. My biggest priority is keeping my little learners safe and healthy! Working in an impoverished neighborhood, there is unfortunately no funding available for items like this so your generosity has truly made the lives of first graders very special! Thank you!”

Your support and kindness has impacted how I will provide a safe and nurturing environment for my students. I am eternally grateful for your kindness. We have made it a mission to stay healthy this year and to follow all the guidelines put out. The students will be pleased to have more shields to help keep their germs to themselves. I can't wait to share the good news! Thank you again.”

New Year, Fresh Start
Funded Jul 16, 2020We are officially getting ready to go back into the classroom and i am ever so grateful to be able to provide these pencil boxes filled with all the necessary supplies for hybrid and blended learning. We are so thankful to you and for your support as we begin this new school year. While it is a little nerve wracking, knowing that the kids don't have to worry about supplies makes everything a little easier. Our neighborhood was hit hard during the pandemic, and many parents lost their jobs. This helps ease some of that stress for them. Thank you so much!!!”

Funded Jun 25, 2020Our books have arrived and they are even more beautiful than even imagined! Words cannot express how happy we are to have these books for our classrooms. We are so grateful to you for your kindness and support for our reading.
Times are tough in our district. Budgets are tight, morale is a little low, and these books will provide just the lift we needed at this time in our school year. The stories give messages of celebrating differences and the illustrations show characters who look like the students who go to our school. We love our new books!
Thank you so much for supporting our project!”

Funded May 18, 2020I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards you for the generous funding of this particular project. As you know, we began remote learning unexpectedly on March 25th, 2020. Despite the challenges presented, i have done my best to provide as normal a learning environment for my first graders by creating teaching videos, offering live sessions, and making online lessons. However, with the addition of this iPad, the material i am able to provide for my students is unparalleled. Videos are now crystal clear, and i am able to edit them using the apps on the iPad. I am so grateful to you for your support as we navigate through this unsettling time. Thank you sooo much!”

Funded May 5, 2020My students were so excited to get mail from their teachers! It was the topic of conversation during the last virtual class meeting. It made me so happy to know that i was able to send some positivity their way in the form of some old fashioned snail mail. It's easy to fall into the trap of isolation during this scary time, and i know of of my students have been affected, so this was a really nice way to just bring forth some smiles and happiness in a simple way. Thank you for your generous support!”
