  • Snail Mail for Students

    Funded Jan 2, 2021

My students were so excited to get mail from their teachers! It was the topic of conversation during the last virtual class meeting. It made me so happy to know that i was able to send some positivity their way in the form of some old fashioned snail mail. It's easy to fall into the trap of isolation during this scary time, and i know of of my students have been affected, so this was a really nice way to just bring forth some smiles and happiness in a simple way. Thank you for your generous support!”

  • Distance Learning goes Boom

    Funded Feb 18, 2021

Thank you so much for your support with this project! Last week the students were working on learning vocabulary and the Boom cards were essential in helping them. Because we are not in person in the classroom, the students are not hearing the words as much as they need to master them. However, with the Boom cards that I was able to give them to work with, the kids were able to do a variety of listening activities so they could hear the words as many times as they needed.

The kids were able to associate images with words, they were able to associate words with sounds, they were able to associate sounds with images and more. Soon we will be working on using our new vocabulary to describe what is in our backpacks as we return to the classroom. Thank you for helping me bridge the gap for my students during this pandemic. These resources will last for as long as the technology exists, so your support will help many years worth of students. Thank you.”

  • Thankful for Thanksgiving

    Funded Nov 11, 2020

Your generous donations helped fund this special project, and we were so excited to surprise our kids with a full Thanksgiving party! Unfortunately, we went fully remote the week before thanksgiving due to the sharp increase in positive cases across the city. Although we weren't able to celebrate thanksgiving in person with our kiddies this year, we are finally back in person, so we are going to put the supplies to use for our holiday party. We want to thank you for thinking of us during the holiday season!”

  • Virtual Learning

    Funded Nov 2, 2020

We returned to our classrooms and we will be teaching all of our students at the same time, some in the school and some at home through the computer. As we tested our hybrid needs the other day, we quickly realized that we needed additional monitors so we can see our students on the screens and so we can teach our classes.

Thank you so much for your generous donation towards our project. Because of you, I have a huge screen where I can see the faces of all of my students while sharing a screen with my other computer monitor. Because of you, I can now see what all of my kids are doing and I won't forget to call on someone because I can't see them. My virtual students can't see this 2nd monitor but I think they are very happy that I can now see them when they raise their hands. I share my screen a lot with my kiddos and still continue to teach and now I can see if the kids are clapping the right rhythm and that is super exciting. So from the bottom of all of our hearts, THANK YOU for the difference that you made!”

  • Engaging My Students

    Funded Sep 7, 2020

This school year is already a quarter through, which is incredible, considering how different it is from years past. Despite new routines and protocols, the kids are thrilled to be at school and experience a sense of normalcy when they come in. The signs and books were extremely effective in helping to establish and explain the née norms, such as social distancing and wearing masks. The other supplies, such as the document camera, have made remote learning much more engaging. We are thankful for generous donors, such as yourself, for providing us with the opportunities to help maintain a quality education and safety for our youngest learners. We thank you so much! Happy holidays!”

  • Print Our Hearts Out

    Funded Nov 19, 2020

While it may seem mundane, a printer is an essential classroom tool. Not having reliable access to a printer has been a huge hindrance and I am so elated that I am now able to use this technology to ensure that all of my students have the work they need to be successful.

Not only does having a printer in the classroom allow me to ensure that I am able to have work available for every student, but it also allows me to print differentiated worksheets for my students will different needs. It is truly an amazing difference!

Thank you much for your generous donation and your support.”

  • Remote Learning

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

As you can see in the pictures below, the headphones have been put to good use by the students in my first grade class. We wanted to express our thanks to you, our generous donors, for providing us with these headphones so that we can continue our learning at school or from home. It provides us with much needed consistency during this time of chaos. The students love the color of the headphones and each child takes great care of their individual pair. We are so thankful to you -- you're the best!”

  • Mighty Mathematicians!

    Funded Oct 7, 2020

I can't even tell you how effective these math toolkits have been for my first grade students! Since we are now adapting to a new normal where students cannot share items, these pouches with the math tools have been a lifesaver in supporting the students with exploring mathematical concepts. They love being able to use all the tools, or just using one to explain their thought process when solving a word problem. They have truly been an awesome addition to our classroom, and we are so thankful that you were able to support us.”

  • Keep Us Safe & Healthy

    Funded Sep 20, 2020

It is with sincere appreciation that I write this note to you. We went back to school this past September under the hybrid model, where the students attend a few days a week but teachers are in-person on a daily basis. It has been a bit nerve-wracking going back to school, but with these personal protective equipment items, myself and my students feel much safer about being in school. We are so grateful to people like you, who understand the importance of staying safe while also trying to adapt to the "new normal" that exists. The kids love that they have a selection of masks to choose from if they forgot their own at home, as well as shields for those who have difficulty keeping a mask on. The wipes are used frequently to sanitize our desks, as is the hand sanitizer for our hands.

Once again, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for thinking of us, caring about us, and supporting us!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rudzinski
