I am a 3/4 transition teacher at Belvoir Elementary School. My students have dealt with a lot in their short time of being a 9 or 10 year old. They've dealt with high teacher turnover throughout last year and just recently, they have had to deal with going from a block schedule with three teachers, to being self-contained and only seeing their original classmates at lunch and occasionally during recess. Belvoir Elementary School is a high needs institution located in a rural community. Many of the parents speak little to no English and work hard so that their children have a great education. We work hard at school to make sure that every student learns and grows and I attempt to close the achievement gap as best I can with what I have.
