• Take-Home Reading BackPacks for Kindies!

  I want to thank you so much for taking the time and money to help some our nation's most needy kiddos. It is because of you and others like you that our students have access to great literacy activities.

  I hope you enjoy the pictures I took of the children enjoying the wonderful books with the fun "acting out" materials. It was amazing to watch their little faces light up and be so excited to read.

  After I introduced each reading backpack to the kids and made sure they thoroughly knew the story and knew how to use the materials, I sent each backpack home with each student. It was like Christmas morning! I also received wonderful feedback from parents. They loved the backpacks as much as the kids. I told the parents all about Donorschoose and they were so thankful that there are such amazing people out there willing to give to our kids.

  And.... the great thing........these backpacks not only touched 20 kids and parents. The backpacks are of such high quality that I will use these for years - touching countless kids!

• Leaping for LeapPads!!!!!!!!

  Oh, thank you so much. I have purchased a leap pad for my students to use. They are so popular and so helpful in teaching kids how to read and the joys of reading that I desperately needed more than one. They are too expensive to purchase on my own and my school can't afford them either. you are helping some very special children learn to read. That is invaluable!

• Take Home Treasures (Reading at Home) Backpacks

  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation. These backpacks will allow some of my most needy children to feel a sense of pride in taking home books to share with family members. I have so many kids that don't even have one book at home, so these backpacks will allow them to interact with good books in fun ways with the people they love.

  I also hope to encourage my parents to consider buying books for gifts more often - after they see the enjoyment their children receive from these packs!

• Math Made Real! We Need Math Manipulatives

  Oh, thank you so much for your generous donation. My students will get hours and hours of learning from these manipulatives! I work in a district that struggles to keep rooms supplied with great learning tools like these.

  First graders must have hands-on tools to learn with. Paper and pencil is not enough. They are concrete learners and must be able to interact with the materials.

• Can You Provide Time 4 Kids? We Need Nonfiction Reading!

  Oh, thank you so much for the donation of Time magazines for kids. Non fiction is so important for kids to read and learn from, but is also one of the most difficult texts to find and afford.

  Time magazine is a wonderful way for kids to read nonfiction in a fun way. My students will enjoy these magazines so much. I am excited to think of different ways to incorporate these materials into my classroom. Thanks again.
