Integrating Math and Science

This is a token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The calculators that you donated have made my students feel more confident in math and science. They used the calculators to do math problems that are related to scientific phenomenon. In the beginning of the school, we used the calculators to find the average atomic mass of elements.

My students were excited that the science departments had their own set of calculators. It was a struggle to borrow calculators from the math department. The love that as a science teacher is helping them with the math skills as well.

The next steps in my classroom is that currently my students are learning about balancing chemical equations. Mathematical equations and balancing chemical equations have a lot of similarities. In the next month, my students will be using the calculators a lot. We will be studying the physical behavior of matter and its connections to math.
