The Students enjoy working with their hands and using the new Dewalt Drills we received. When the box came in the students eyes just opened up and, Fharell was like can I "please open the box, please, please". As soon as they opened it they pulled the contents out, and I kid you not they started to smell the Drills and bags. I asked them why are they doing that and the response was "The smell of new tools is so energizing". I am not going to lie, but yes they made me smell the tool as well, and I must admit I like the smell of new. Through out the year we have had the ability to create a new wooden wall in the hallway, work on building our First Robotics practice Field, and our most recent project is helping out the Brooklyn Veterans build 2 Soap Box Derby cars, in which one was created for a special needs child. So, that particular soap box derby car can fit 2 people instead of one. We can't wait to keep going and build new projects and improve old ones as the new school year comes along.
