I teach 20 fabulous kindergarten students in a Title 1 school. I have been teaching kindergarten in the public schools for 6 years. I love teaching the youngest learners in my building. My school is a Title 1 School which means that at least 50% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. I choose to work in a school where there are a high percentage of students who live in poverty. Finding a way to close the achievement gap for our poverty students is a goal myself and the staff I work with work towards daily. I am blessed to work in a building where my principal is an instructional leader, and for two years we have been working on a better way to teach math. We feel we have succeeded.

About my class
