Funded Mar 1, 2024Thank you once again for making my students so very happy! When the boxes of snacks arrived their eyes were huge and they asked "Where did you get ALL of that?" I explained the process and they were amazed at the generosity and kindness of strangers.
I have used the snacks for times when a student is hungry but also for a reward when academic progress is made, extra effort has been shown or kindness in the classroom. I have also shared the snacks with my team of teachers and their students so these snacks are reaching far past my room!
Thanks you for your support.....it is really appreciated.”

Virtual Necessities for Success
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you for donating and supporting my project for the virtual classroom. I was very excited to receive the materials. Even though we are still not in person, I have started to use the markers and whiteboard at home. I am currently using the whiteboard during my small group instruction with three different grade levels. The whiteboard is HUGE and it allows the students to see the material being presented clearly. I absolutely LOVE it!
As soon as we return to in person school, I know the kids will be excited to use the markers and the reusable write and wipe packets. We will not be using a lot of paper worksheets nor collecting papers, so I plan on using the write and wipe packets in various ways and it will be nice to have one per student so they can keep it each day.
Thanks again for your support and generous donations!!!!”

Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you so much for allowing my project to get fully funded. Our students take most assessments online so these headphones are essential to their success. As with most equipment, normal wear and tear play a part in having to constantly replace headphones. We will definitely use these on a daily basis.
The students will be excited to have new headphones because no one likes to use headphones that are broken and taped together! I know there will be many smiles and discussion about getting the new versus the old headphones.
Thanks for your continued support to me and many other teachers.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous classroom supporter and 9 other donors."Hear ye, Hear ye....Listen, Learn and Perform!"
Funded Feb 6, 2018We recently received our headphones and are so excited to use them! The students eagerly but carefully unpacked them. They could not wait to try them on and get started. Some of the comments I heard were: "Wow, these feel great!", "These don't hurt my ears like the other ones!" and " I can hear great out of these! "
With your generous donations, tasks on the computer will be a little less taxing and I can guarantee that EVERYONE will have a pair of headphones that work.
Thank you again and know that we will put these new headphones to good use.”

Funded Jan 9, 2018The students, my partner teacher and I are so excited to have our double sided board. The students were amazed when they saw it and couldn't wait to use it. The board really helps to cut down on distractions and noise when we are both working with groups. As you can see in the pictures, we are using both sides on a daily basis. The kids LOVE that they get to write on the board and be the teacher by leading the lesson.
Thank you again for your generous donations and please know the board will be put to good use!”

Adventure Awaits in a Great Book
Funded Oct 19, 2017From the moment the boxes arrived, the kids couldn't wait to open them to see what new books were now going to be available to them. Needless to say, they were extremely excited and didn't know which one to grab first.
These students are above grade level readers, however, many of them don't own chapter books and their only experience with them is in school. They had a very serious debate about which one to read first. I had to have an anonymous vote and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was chosen. Many of them have seen the movie and were anxious to compare the book to the movie.
We have started reading and have had many rich discussions. I am looking forward to completing the book and recording the differences found between the book and the movie.
Thank you for donating to my project....you have made this teacher and her students very happy! These books will be used for many years in the future.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose.org Community and 5 other donors.PAINTED ROCKS can spread happiness!
Funded Sep 30, 2017We used the supplies to spread some positivity on our school campus which will hopefully spread to the community as well. When the students first saw the rocks, paints and brushes, they were so excited to get started. We talked about expressions and designs to use that would make the finders of the painted rocks smile and feel good. The students had great conversations and it was nice to see the camaraderie among the different age levels and grade levels of the students. They were very excited to hide the rocks for others to find.
I am hoping to do this project again in the spring to continue spreading the message of kindness. Some of the students said they were going to paint some rocks on their own so I am happy to see they want to continue the project.”
