Why Can't I Hear You?
Funded Feb 25, 2019There are no words to describe the impact this wonderful gift has brought to my students.
Technology is all around us, for both young and old. This includes students of every age. My second graders are between the ages of seven and eight, and they can't wait to get their hands on the classroom computers each morning.
Although my classroom is equipped with computers, it was not equipped with headphones. Not many of my students own their own headphones. This was a real detriment to their learning due to the fact they they were not able to listen to their assignment instruction nor follow directions in order to solve their math problems.
This situation has certainly been solved! My students are completing their online lessons with over 80% accuracy. This is in great part due to the wonderful headphones they are using. They are sturdy, long-lasting, and extremely comfortable. Thank you so much for this amazing gift. It has truly made a difference in the lives of my students!”

Thumbs Up For Marvelous Mathematicians
Funded Dec 3, 2013I've been thinking of how to put into words what a positive effect the Document Viewer has had both on my students and myself. When I first received your gift and got it installed, I couldn't wait to show my students. They didn't understand what it was exactly until it was put to work.
At first, they came up to look at it and tried to analyze it, but when they saw all the math manipulatives up on the screen and my actual hand moving them around, they were amazed.
We pretty much use the Document Viewer on a daily basis. For example, the students can actually see how adding and subtracting with re-grouping works. They also have a much better understanding of fractions. They are now able to comprehend what equivalent fractions are, and how to go from an improper fraction to a mixed number and from a mixed number to an improper fraction.
My students' learning has definitely been impacted. Now they not only understand what happens, but why something happens. They have a much better use of their higher order and reasoning skills.
My teaching has also been impacted in the sense that it's been much easier for me to get my point across to my students. Since I am limited on using copy paper, I use the Document Viewer a great deal to introduce lessons. No longer do I have to write on a board where students can't see. Now everyone has an equal opportunity at learning. Again, "Thumbs up to Chevron!"”
