Visual Sensory Manipulatives For Children with Autism
Funded Jan 4, 2024When my students with special needs first saw the sensory wands and displays, they were ecstatic! One student immediately gravitated to the new toys, which was an excellent opportunity for him to use his communication board to request and express feelings. Another student was motivated to produce her /s/ sound when choosing "this one." She has been saying her sound correctly even since!
Though the most rewarding experience was when a Kindergartner with Autism, who has never expressed interest in anything other than books, smiled when the fiber optic sensory wand tickled his hand. This was a big milestone for this youngster and I know there will be many more breakthroughs.
Thank you for your donations!”
With gratitude,
