My students consist of a group of 20 curious 5 and 6 year old kids who are ready to learn. I work in an open classroom with students who are extremely vivacious and full of life. They are always willing to discuss any content matter I teach and bring their full attention to the work they wish to achieve in our classroom. My students work hard every day to learn to read. Since my kindergarten students are working hard to read I want to help them to the best of my ability. This is my first year in a Kindergarten classroom so I do not have as many books available as I would like for my students. We use The Daily 5 reading system to help foster a love for reading in the students at our school. This means that my students sit down to read with myself or independently EVERY DAY! I want to give my students as many books to read as I possibly can.
