Funded Oct 26, 2021When I first unboxed the kitchen play center my students didn't know what to think of it. When they returned to school the next day and saw the completed kitchen they were very excited and wanted to start playing with it right away. I had a plan in place to allow groups of four to rotate through the play centers, the kitchen being one of them. Very quickly I heard conversations from students saying "I am going to be the mom. Who wants to be the dad, the kids, or the dog?" I giggled. They always have a dog! But the best part was when I looked back at the center I saw my student who only speaks Russian, interacting with others and testing out his English. It was heartwarming!”

Math All Around Us
Funded Oct 28, 2021Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn through “doing”. These hands on centers will provide so many children the chance to explore math in fun ways! With collaboration, trial and error, and curiosity I know my students will become life long learners. Thanks again for your support!”

Funded Aug 21, 2019First off, let me just say how grateful I am to your quick and generous purchase! I didn't think I'd be starting off the new school year with a functioning listening center! I have been teaching for 21 years, and 15 of those years have been in kindergarten. Young children need to have stories read to them frequently, and this was just the thing to make that happen.
You have no idea the impact a CD/cassette player makes in a kindergarten classroom. Now I can have a reading group with me, a writing group with a parent, and a third group of students listening to stories on tape or CD. For so long I have had to keep these great stories left untouched because I couldn't afford a machine that would play both CD's and cassettes. It's not everyday that people listen to music on a cassette tape, but in kindergarten I have 30 plus stories to share!
There are so many benefits to having this listening center. One of the most important benefits is the training and skill building it provides. Students today often struggle with listening and comprehension. Somehow we have lost the art of listening to a story being told to us and the ability to retell and learn from it. This simple skill can be developed in kindergarten through the beautifully narrated stories that I can now share with my class!”
