My first graders are eager to read and learn! They work hard every day to achieve their goals and overcome challenges. In my classroom, my students love to learn about science and social studies, and are especially excited when they find a book about a topic they have learned about in class. Some of them are eager to read chapter books, but need some at their reading level. Nearly all of my students are learning English for the first time at school, which for some means learning to read is not easy. In spite of the many challenges facing my students' community, they learn and grow in amazing ways each and every day.
