  • News We'll Use...

    Funded Oct 27, 2010

Thank you so much for making this an opportunity for the students in my classroom. They look forward to reading our Time for Kids magazines each week, and the exposure to non-fiction, current events has been a wonderful teaching opportunity. I appreciate your generosity in donating towards this project. Your generous donation will now give my students the chance to be exposed to challenging nonfiction reading material and, with my help, come to understand current issues of our world. Thanks to you, they can now develop into critical thinkers and be able to communicate their thoughts and understanding about the community and world in which they are members! I am forever grateful for your donation and choosing to fund our project! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kartsimas

  • On The Ball

    Funded Oct 8, 2010

I am thrilled to be able to make this idea an opportunity for ALL students. What a difference they make in the students' attention, behavior, and posture! Plus they are incredibly fun. The balls have become a nice addition to our room. The kids are more focused now that they can move while working. Some students are less restless when they're allowed to bounce on the ball. On behalf of the students who are fortunate enough to now have this creative learning opportunity, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. ”

My students will now be able to store their work in a safe, and convenient place. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to support teachers & students! The flash drives will be well used this year, and for years to come! The materials will be used by this year's class, and many more students in the future! Thank you!!”

  • One Fish, Two Fish --Our Wish......

    Funded Apr 26, 2009

Thank you for providing us with an aquarium for our classroom library where students can read, write, and enjoy the relaxing, soothing fish tank. The giant aquarium has a spherical design that gives kids a crystal-clear view from every angle...and the curved sides even magnify fish for up-close observation. The students love sitting by the fish tank to work and enjoy the responsibility of caring for our new class pets! Thanks again for your generosity! Students for years to come will be forever grateful.”

I teach 3rd grade in a high-need, diverse community comprised of a large number of at-risk, ELL students from low-income households......who have an INCREDIBLE thirst for knowledge and LOVE coming to our wonderful school. It’s my desire to meet the needs of all of my students and provide them with an incredible environment to learn everyday. As teachers, we do the best we can with the resources we have (supplied personally and by our district). We reuse, recycle, reinvent, recreate and share ideas/materials with each other. Sometimes, however, innovative ideas require the help of others!
