I teach Health-8 to middle school students in Las Vegas. This year I am trying to bring a variety of learning experiences to students, both digital and hands-on. In order to do this, I need lots of different supplies such as colored paper, scissors, glue, markers, crayons, pens, pencils, and headphones. The therapy games books will provide group activity ideas for hands on learning. With the book sets Wonder and Restart, students will be able to read about other students that have gone through hard situations and be able to apply parts of their story to their own lives. Goal setting and resiliency are a large part of the Health curriculum. For example, with these supplies, students will be able to work on Nevada Academic Content Standard 6.GS.MS.1 Apply strategies and skills needed to attain a health goal. Students will be able to create vision boards and see their future goals come to life. Using the positive quotes posters as affirmations around the room, they will be continually reminded of positive words to keep them motivated. Finally, the sanitizing wipes and face masks are a necessity during this time in order to keep students in the classroom and learning. These materials will help students learn through creating and engaging with the content.
