  • Restock Essential Items

    Funded Dec 15, 2024

Thank you again for donating to our classroom! I'm happy to report that our dry erase marker drawer is full with extra boxes ready to go! The sheet protectors are working perfectly for our students to work on sentence frames and math templates over and over again without having to reprint them!

Our classroom jobs got a boost with the broom and the dish brushes. Teaching life skills are important too! Plus, kids love to do new jobs at school. Thank you for supporting us. These supplies may seem boring, but they make a huge impact in our classroom.”

  • Decodable Books for Older Readers

    Funded Aug 22, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! We are using these books to read and work on phonics skills! They are a great bridge for students who are struggling readers but are interested in grade-level topics. So many times we have to use materials meant for 1st graders and 3rd graders get bored with those stories. These grade-level decodable texts are making a huge difference and we are seeing growth in their reading already!

It is also great to have resources for quick, specific phonics work when we find holes in students' reading abilities. Thank you again!”

  • Books and Keyboards

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! The keyboards are amazing and they motivate students to build their typing skills. Plus they get excited to type up the final drafts of papers that they write, which is way more exciting that having to write in their best handwriting!

The books that your donations allowed me to purchase were a great help to my students who participating in OBOB. Having those books allowed those students to study both at home and here at school. And it worked! The team from my class won the school competition! They went on to compete in the regional tournament and placed in the top sixteen! That is especially impressive as they were the ONLY 4th grade team there! Thank you for giving these students that fantastic opportunity.”

  • Get Kids Reading!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for helping me get these books into my classroom! My students have LOVED reading them! The Wings of Fire and Diary of a Wimpy Kid sets have been hugely popular. Students have been keeping copies of these books at their desks and pulling them out to read whenever they have some extra time in class. I love that students now have this big variety of new, in-demand books at their fingertips. They love perusing the library and selecting their next adventure. You are truly making a difference for these kids with your donations.”

  • New Keyboards!

    Funded Jun 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations that allowed us to get these keyboards! My students LOVE using them! We are working on typing skills each week so that students become skilled and efficient typists. We have been working for several weeks now and some of them are getting pretty good.! As we begin writing longer stories students will now have the skills to more quickly and efficiently type their final drafts. These keyboards also motivate some of my more reluctant students to engage in their online learning. (It doesn't hurt that the keyboards light up and they can change the color!)

Again, thank you so much for donating to my classroom and to my students. You are making a positive impact on these students lives and I couldn't be more grateful!”

  • Typing Skills for the Future!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

My students have been so excited to get new keyboards to use when they are typing! The old ones were missing keys which obviously made it very difficult to type accurately! Thank you so much for providing them with these important tools. Typing is something we work on every week, including using correct form and finger placement, rather than just the hunt and peck method! New keyboards are great motivation for students to actually work on improving these skills because they want to use the keyboards! These skills will be invaluable to them as we continue in our technology dominated world. Thank you again for your support!”

  • Update Our Classroom!

    Funded Aug 21, 2021

Thank you so much for adding to our classroom this year! Our students have been enjoying the books as they relax in bean bag chairs in our classroom library!

We were able to restock and use fresh supplies! They were so excited to throw out the old broken supplies and use the brand new ones! It gives them a whole new motivation to work and create quality assignments.

We have been pulling out the new math games to switch things up. They love them because not only are they learning, but they are also having fun and getting to interact with their peers.

You have helped create such a positive experience for my students so far this year, I really can't thank you enough!”

  • Building a Better Library

    Funded Mar 21, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! I have been working really hard to improve and diversify my classroom library. Adding all of these books is a big step in that process. These books guide our discussions around culture, history, and identity. I often read these books aloud in our community/class meetings and they always get students talking about their thoughts, beliefs, and what happened in the story.

It is also important to me that all of my students can see themselves and their culture reflected in our class library. I want them to know that they are important and that they should be proud of who they are.

Given all of the social justice issues that have come to the surface in the past year, my black students have really enjoyed talking about stories of black people and black culture. Also, with the election of Kamala Harris as our VP, the girls in our class have felt really empowered and have been enjoying the many stories of women being successful.”

  • Distance Learning Tools!

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! The new whiteboards and pens are used daily by the students and it is so nice to have new, clean materials! We got several new books that have been great conversations starters during our daily morning meetings. The students always look forward to these books and they generate amazing conversations. We have not used the fraction pieces yet, as that unit is in the spring, but I know that having these pieces that students can actually touch and move around is going to make the concept of fractions way more concrete and easier for students to understand. So thank you again for your support!”

  • Diverse Book Library

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Thank you so much for providing these books for our classroom! I have been reading them during our morning meeting and they have been guiding conversations about equality, kindness, social awareness, acceptance, friendship, and many other topics. My students are 4th graders and they still love read alouds. Plus, as 4th graders, they are able to really grasp the moral of the story and have a constructive discussion about it. I have students who have been inspired to volunteer, try new things, and get out of their comfort zones when it comes to expressing themselves and asking questions. I am so excited to continue these conversations with this group of students and with my future classrooms!”

My students have shown a thirst for books in our classroom. My tiny classroom library has been raided and they keep asking me for more books! When students finish their work, their first option is to read a book. Our math curriculum is becoming more rigorous as we align our goals and standards with the common core, any supportive materials I can get my hands on will directly support my students as they dive into the content. Elapsed time has proven to be an especially difficult concept for students to grasp, so the elapsed time boards will be an amazing tool and visual for students to use.
