  • Of Mice and Men for Everyone!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The impact of your donation had a significant impact on the students. It gave them access to a powerful literary work they may not have otherwise obtained. We were able to offer an opportunity for classes to engage in discussions about its themes of friendship, loneliness, and perseverance. We had in depth analytical discussions ultimately enriching students' understanding of literature and social issues.

This donation not only expanded educational opportunities but also fostered empathy and reflection among readers, proving that access to books can have lasting impact on personal growth and education.”

  • Essential Reading

    Funded Jan 17, 2018

Wow! I just got the news that our project is fully funded! I cannot stress how grateful we are for your generosity.

My students are some of the brightest I’ve ever had and have been begging for higher level texts to push themselves to the next level. Your generous gift will have an immediate impact on our class.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of young readers and writers! You are truly magnificent!”

  • Please Please Please can we get a New Rug?

    Funded Dec 25, 2008

Thank you so very much for funding my proposal, "Please, Please, Please Can We Get a New Rug!" What wonderful surprise for the new year. The teaching model my school follows encourages independent reading. Allowing my students to find a great book and get comfortable really helps them escape into literature. Since I work in New York City many of my students suffer from asthma and allergies. By having a flat rug that can be vacuumed each day you are helping to improve our lives. I cannot wait to tell them that we have been funded and new rug is coming soon!

Now I can look forward to the end of my holiday break because I have such good news to share with my students. You may not realize what a tremendous impact you have made on the lives of these children. The fact that a complete stranger decided to donate something that we could otherwise never afford means so much to us. It is so important that my students learn about selfless acts of kindness. Thank you for making a difference in our lives.

    Happy New Year!

  • Books for Everyone!

    Funded Dec 5, 2008

Thank you for your extreme generosity! When I opened my email I couldn't believe it. My students are going to be so excited to hear that we have been funded. They are some of the most talented and deserving young minds that I have ever had the privilege of working with. Due to your kindheartedness they will know that you think they are special too. Thank you again for improving the lives of children. You are amazing!

  • Technologically Prepared

    Funded Dec 26, 2007

Thank you so very much for your extremely generous gift! As I sit here on my holiday break all I can think about is how I cannot wait to get back to school and share my good news. You have made such great impact on some very deserving students who would never be able to purchase their own flash drives. Our school has a computer lab, but we could never save any work. Now, with your kindness and generosity we can finally maximize our lab time. Again, so many thanks to you. Have a happy and healthy new year”

  • Hot Titles for Our Classroom Library!

    Funded Dec 22, 2007

Thank you so much for your generous gift! As I sit here on my winter vacation I cannot wait to get back to school and share my good news. You have helped make a difference in the lives of some very deserving students. My classes have been reading up a storm through the books in my library, but they have been eager for more popular titles. Now thanks to your thoughtfulness and generosity they will have what they have been so patiently waiting for. Thank you again, and have a happy and healthy new year”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kaufman

Please put the books that my students want to read IN THEIR HANDS! I am an 8th grade Language Arts teacher at Middle School 88 in Brooklyn. My school classifies as a "poverty" school, because over 90% of the students receive free lunch. Many of my students are working hard to becoming better readers and better students, but without books that interest them, I am fighting an uphill battle.
